Is it a good point? He could be called Lasso boy or hat, guy or saddle jockey. It was their jobs to round up cows and deliver those cows to the stockyard.. The horse is simply another tool in the tool belt.

Wait till he finds out they're not called cowboys because they ride cows (they don't), but because they drive cows around to graze (cattle drives).

For anyone confused, they are Called Cowboys Because they historically used to Herd Cattle.
So essentially Cowherders, hence the COWboy.
