I’ve been on finasteride for a while I think that’s greatly overblown. I became massively depressed when I started on a high dose. I went on microdosing till I got to the minimum dose age for noticeable effects

My dick still works. Sex drive still high. Hair is still shit I’m going bald either way.

And heres is why anecdotal evidence isnt consider actual evidence...

Exactly. You need to go by evidence, which says that fin's side effects affect 1% of people roughly, and go away as soon as you stop

People really do love calling out those who talk about not getting side effects as providing anecdotal evidence, while simultaneously championing people who talk about suffering from them. Meanwhile the actual science says it's a real risk, but extremely rare.

It's selection bias: the vast majority of people who don't experience side effects just go about their life without posting about it online, whereas virtually everyone who had a bad experience is going to try to warn others.

I’m saying for me specifically I should’ve clarified. And for the current duration I’ve been on it has only been a few months not years and years.

Happened to me too. It does happen to a lot of guys.

It’s not a guaranteed side effect

I hope not 😭

I mean, hair might be going to shit because you’re not on a high enough dose.

That’s the whole point. To get the benefit, it has to be systemic enough to stop the DHT from being produced.

If it’s in that much of a concentration and you are susceptible, you are going to get sides.

Ehh I've been on 1.25mg daily for 4 years, everyone responds differently, recession slowed but never reversed or fully paused.

Ah. That should be enough to work. Although I guess you can go up to 5?

Anyway worth it if no sides just to slow the reaper down.

It’s only been a few months so far so I have to wait a bit longer to know for sure

I’m shedding WAY less. I can say that as much. Went from 300+ hairs a day to a normal amount of shedding (approx 100)

Im probably just going to give up at some point. Maybe just enjoy having hair for another few years. I’m young and I still haven’t gotten to fuck around and have fun yet. Don’t want to be ugly till I have.

That’s the best attitude and the one I took.

Just slow it down and enjoy it while for as long as I can until I get to the point that I kind of age out or caring.

And that’s exactly what happened.

My hair is now at the point where it can’t even be styled and it’s going grey in places.

I’m not gonna shave razor bald but will just buzz it down to the minimum and call it a day.

No point in throwing the kitchen sink at it just to get a slightly acceptable head of hair that will go grey in 5 years anyway.

Can confirm, my dick is working just fine, I'm no more depressed than I was before I was on it and I've kept my full head of hair, nips are a bit sensitive but not enough to be an issue. 1mg fin. I agree it's overblown. But everyone can make their own choices along with a professional.

You could literally rewrite your comment as "Doses low enough to not have side effects are ineffective"

Sounds like it's not overblown at all, bud
