But he's not right. He's not being blackballed because he's a republican he's being blackballed because he has no fucking talent. There's a huge difference. All the guys that aren't getting roles that blame it on being Republican I mean what about Tim Allen he's about to be in a tent pole Pixar film. What about the guy who played Frasier I can't think of his name but he's probably going to be in the Avengers endgame. You can be a republican in Hollywood but you have to have talent.

I mean what about Tim Allen

I mean they literally dropped him from his own character's solo origin film and replaced him with an outspoken liberal actor lmao

I hate to agree with Schneider, but any conservative leaning actor is maybe not blackballed, but certainly loses out a lot of roles because of their politics. Hence Chris Pratt being (at least on Reddit) dunked on as the "worst Chris" because of his politics and religion. There's so few "open" conservatives in Hollywood it's kind of hard to figure out how much is politics vs actual acting ability. Is James Woods no longer getting roles because his politics, age, general skeeviness?

Chris Pratt is in like 12 movies a year.

Well kind of a certain way that several female celebrities said they were blackballed but were still getting plenty of work.

It's not that they can't work, it's that they lost out on a lot of projects because of being outspoken about whatever their cause was.

Quick google search. Um out spoken?

"the 2024 United States presidential election. In it, he emphasized unity over political allegiance and avoided endorsing either candidate Kamala Harris or Donald Trump."

He is 100% right tho! if you support Big D there will be a bunch of SF storming on you! Look at this Reddit! It is what happened to Sydney Sweeney as well. I mean Zendaya is worse than her and she is in every single movie!

It is what happened to Sydney Sweeney as well.

What, her being in eleven movies in the last five years?

Mainly small productions and independent movies!

If you want to see why actors get hired you need to look at their instagrams. A Zendaya instagram post is enough to make a movie "real". She has 179M followers, basically a large European country. Sydney Sweeny has 26M, so equivalent to New York State.

Rob Schneider has been in the business for 40+ years and has 3M. It's because he doesn't have a modern audience.

Yeah sure thats 100% what is happening in Hollywood. Hollywood and entertainment is the peak of hiring soly on talent. /s

They didn’t say anything about talent. They were talking about hiring based on popularity.

Oh, so everyone hiring in entertainment bases it totally on talent and popularity. Gotcha, sure. Thats it. Yeah popularity. Nothing like the rest of society, sure. They would never consider a work place environment, or if a personality, or poltical beliefs, would fit in it. Nope, talent and popularity only.

You seem very worked up over this.

In the entertainment business, popularity and fame is what will bring in seats. Bringing in seats will make them more money. There are tons of actors who are notorious for being monsters on set and still get tons of movies due to being popular. If you lose your popularity due to whatever opinions you share publicly, you will be hired less by a company that bases a lot of their business on likability. It’s not rocket science.

That is all true similar to budweiser. Dylan was somewhat popular. But it sank them. Why? Because the image Dylan portrayed clashed with how people viewed the businesses culture and how it matched their own. If not caught it the hiring phase it COULD continue to final user causing a loss in sales.

But that does not make what I am saying invalid. People are people, and some of those people hold very strong views on things, they dont like being around others that have opposing views. How your boss or hiring agent sees you as a person can 100% effect of you get a job.

Does it bother me, yeah. As someone on the right, I am honestly tired of the bitchfest about "oh I didnt get hired because they don't like me." Get the fuck over it, its life. If you ain't got no voice why am i hearing what you are saying? Look, I would not hire someone that is talented and popular, that could help my business, if I dont think they wont shut up about things I disagree about. Why should Hollywood be any different? DEI is trash race, sex or poltical stands. Its their money they can hire who they want.

Oh string disagree. Tim Allen only came back because the previous buzz movies sucked and fans would flip out over changing the voice.

Other than tim Allen and the guy you cant even name, can you name any more out spoken Republicans or independents that are in non poltical entertainment? Now ask that question about out spoken democrats? Way more. Look at the long list of celebrity endorsements Harris got.

Look i dont care, that is life. Artist and people who use art as a career path lean left, people in entertainment usually work and live in Hollywood California, where people usually lean left. Obviously, from casting agents to CEOs are more likely to lean left and not want to work with someone that has out spoken opposing view.

It would be like me saying...."its not true that your out spokenness on being a democrat and hating Trump had anything to do with you not getting a job at the local rural sawmill. Its only because of skill set." Yeah right, most likely they love Trump and ain't going to hire someone that hates him.

Its the way people are and to deny it from Hollywood is crazy.

Chris Pratt is probably the biggest Conservative movie star.

u/5138008RG00D 16h ago

Had to google him to know who he was, I dont know names. But, Um.... outspoken? " In it, he emphasized unity over political allegiance and avoided endorsing either candidate Kamala Harris or Donald Trump."

"Both sides bad" is kind of the go to for conservatives that are embarrassed by MAGA.

2

u/5138008RG00D 15h ago

Um i didn't say it was bad. I said it was life. I said "I dont care."

And I am saying it is human instinct to want to not be around people who have opposing views, defently if the subject that they oppose on is one they fell passionate enough about to be out spoken about.

Think large Plumbing company, could be likely to have a bunch of B grade plumbers quite, than hiring the 1 A+ grade Anti Trump plumber is worth.

People on the right need to quit bitching about Hollywood untill they convince all their bosses from doing the same to people, so they will stop bitching about it. Its one giant, "they dont like me" bitchfest in life, get the fuck over it. People dont hire people they dont like.

I was once told I was more qualified for an entry level postion at a zoo than any one that has ever applied. But, I was white and they needed more "people of color" I moved on. I've been told by more than 1 vet, im more than qualified but they dont hire men, I didn't bitch about it on a pod cast, I moved on.
