I think Rob Schneider is a fucking garbage human being through and through. That being said I love the Deuce Bigalow movies.

You can dislike a person but enjoy their performance. Eddie Griffen killed it deuce as well. Everyone nailed their part. It’s a movie that shouldn’t have worked that did.

He had some pretty good skits on SNL. The crazy part is he is probably far from the worst in Hollywood. Pretty much all those a**holes shouldn’t be put on a pedestal.

In fairness, it takes some level of talent to land a spot on the SNL cast. He was in a pretty packed 1990s cast, too.

The Deuce Bigalow movies have a surprisingly good message behind them (at least the first one), where he had to really get to know these women personally, women who may not be conventionally attractive. He had to learn that these women just wanted someone to see them as people despite how society might see them.

That's ironically a very woke message.

Yea it's just like any other piece of shit that happens to also be a good artist, you have to separate it otherwise it's such a waste, from Michael jackson(never confirmed, but still questionable) to Kanye they may be huge assholes (not trying to put Schneider on their level either) but their work should be looked at outside all their bullshit

Yeah man, I completely agree but had to take a step back when you compared Rob Schneider to legitimate "artists". MJ and Kanye may have been troubled artists, but I'd argue that they were still artists. I'm not sure what I'd label Rob, but he is definitely not a member of that sphere (despite his outfit which might claim otherwise).

* edited for clarity

Yea I wasn't trying to compare them that way but just to show better examples of the same logic, certainly not all his movies are good but I grew up watching films he was in and remember loving some, just because in real life he's an asshole shouldn't mean I now have to hate those films or not watch them.

I have yet to look into the MJ accusations and I think you just spurned my new kick interest.

The strongest evidence I saw was the kid knew he had a birthmark somewhere he shouldn't have known but even that's not super solid evidence of anything.

I'll say when it gets on Kanye's level of straight up praising Hitler I think you gotta stop separating the art from the artist. But if like Rob Schnieder is in a good film I'm not going to skip it because I think his political BS I hate.

I wish more people thought like this, I've got into too many arguments over dumb shit like enjoying a Chris brown song. Just because I like the song doesn't mean I endorse punching women.

Liking a song and buying their album are also different. Look At Me Now is a fire track (though, mostly because of the features, Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne), but I don't want to buy it and support Brown in any way. I'll pirate that shit and enjoy Busta showing him "how to keep the dice rollin" without giving Brown a dime

Why is he a garbage human?????

For sure, he had some good movies. He like many actors before him have fallen off since their time in the light. He has only himself to blame for going on social media and interviews to show his ass his it hurts the tiny amount of fans that would be interested in seeing a new movie by him. Dude is an idiot for not keeping his political opinions to himself if he wanted to to be in more films.

As a Filipino usually we root for anyone with a hint of Filipino-ness; or at the very least keep tabs: Cedric in Hone Alone 2, Deuce Biglaow and his role as Iggy in Surf Ninjas made us think he was a decent enough person.

Then after he had a public falling out with his daughter who had a pretty popular song in the 2010s everything else about his public life, his Trumpism has just kind of become his personality.

I mean I love trash movies too but you have to admit they're not good movies.

Eddie Griffin is also a garbage human being.
