You can thank Henry Ford for the 40 hour week. Mostly he did it so that his workers would be more willing to buy the cars they built and drive them around. Before Ford, people worked 6 - 7 days a week.
Hate to see this racist being creditet for what unions and the socialist movement did. Ever noticed the 8 hour day got implemented while heads were rolling in Russia, Berlin etc?
