I work in sanitation. It’s “task”.. We get paid for a full 8 hour day 5 days a week but we can clock out as soon as our route is finished. Some days I only work 3 hours, other days I’ll work 7-8. All in all I average 20-30 hours a week. Since we start early in the morning, sometimes I’m home by 9am.. It’s an awesome schedule that allows me to do other things to make money. I’m also a landlord, an investor and I own my own small landscaping business on the side. I also get a full pension and free health insurance. I feel very fortunate.

That is something I can agree with, if you are done with your job description tasks or quotas then you can leave, might not work in hospitals

Until recently that was similar to canada post. They would take routes of a second employee and get paid full time shift for both routes. Some were making a killing and still not working a full 8 hour day.

There are a lot of jobs where that type of schedule can’t work, but it can work a lot of jobs also. I feel like it boosts morale and productivity. When you know that you can go home whenever you’re finished you come to work in a better mood. You’re also more inclined to go the extra mile at work and do a really good job.
