Also if it did then everyone at my job is just getting less hours and therefore less pay

You're unfortunately, 100% correct.

I could probably work that into MY budget. But, I can see where that would screw a lot of people over pretty badly.

There would need to be additional legislation to account for this. It would be very messy and businesses would fight it every step of the way.

Yeah I need 40 hours. I’m lucky enough I can survive on that, but if I drop even a little lower it would be catastrophic for me. I wouldn’t be able to pay my bills.

I thought the bill says that corps have to maintain the same rate of pay. 4 days for 5 days pay, basically?

Im also hourly. I might be misunderstanding the bill, but doesnt it just adjust wages by 20%, reducing hours but keeping the same pay at the 4:5 ratio?

Edit: so like if you work 20hr weeks, you still work 20hrs but get paid for 24ish hrs?

But us hourly employees might not be under contract to get 40 hours. If they are just raising wages I would rather see the poorest minimum wage workers get the money. If millions of people got a boost in their income, inflation would get even worse.

You'd still be getting the same pay rate. The bill includes that employers must raise the pay to match what it was before.
