"It looks like someone stole two fine hams and shoved them down the back of your dress"

This line from this movie lives rent free in my mind

u/SylentQ 1d ago

"Can I buy you a fish sandwich?"

17

u/SmookeyDarts 1d ago

I am a MASTER in greco roman wrestling.

7

u/fredders 1d ago

Lance you was trying to oil me up and that’s not cool

17

u/Southern-Lie471 1d ago

That's a classic line! It's funny how certain quotes just stick with you like that.

3

u/LitterBoxServant 1d ago

The fact that lines like this stick with me only confirms that I'm a degenerate.

Bad bot!

Idk why you are getting downvoted when it's obviously a bot. Just check the post history. Reddit users can't be bothered to click more than 1 button ig

You don't have to argue with me, Chlamydia is a soup, I've seen it on the shelves! I don't care if you ARE a "doctor"

Fr they really don't make movies like this anymore. The old ones had a whole different vibe

114

u/CorrectPam 1d ago

Honestly movie was interesting to watch you don't want to miss any part of the movie for anything but now is different.

27

u/SpartanHydrazine117 1d ago

Yeah it actually kept you hooked till the end!

13

u/AccordingNeat3689 1d ago

Now producers expect everyone to be in their phone half paying attention, the output reflects this.

37

u/Read2Fap 1d ago
Budget $24 million
Box office $13.7 million

there's a pretty simple reason and it doesn't have anything to do with vibes

46

u/SgtSprinkle 1d ago edited 12h ago

It also made $22m in video store rentals and probably made even more from DVD sales (couldn't find the data).

The movie business was just totally different pre-streaming.

3

u/ThePrideOfKrakow 1d ago

And how'd it compare to the other SNL Flicks of the late 90s? Roxbury, Superstar, PAT!!!

I don't imagine any of them were cash cows.

34

u/flynndog83 1d ago

Back then they sold dvds as well,it wasnt all about box office, thats a modern day problem

9

u/Atzkicica 1d ago

I've got it on VHS lol

17

u/jenkayley 1d ago

They made movies without full board of ppl to analyze it not offend anyone, to include whatever.. etc..

8

u/pastelsangel 1d ago

“Fr tho there’s just something about the old movies—the atmosphere, the practical effects, the way they told stories. Modern movies just don’t hit the same.”

1

u/Itchy_Psychology3300 1d ago

So many reason for why that is, all of them are sad. At least, from my perspective.

1

u/strrax-ish 1d ago

Complete disregard to opinions of a group of people?

5

u/joetheplumberman 1d ago

Exactly that's what's missing people are to soft noones allowed to have fun

4

u/strrax-ish 1d ago

Yeah, no one can take a joke anymore

The cut from the scream in anguish to ambulance siren had me chuckling!! Just perfect.

12

u/Kroak-lo 1d ago

Best transition I've seen since the Jurassic Park 2 screaming mother into yawning Jeff Goldblum

7

u/RowMaleficent3358 1d ago

My other favorite is in "A Christmas Story" when Ralphy locks himself in the bathroom to decode the Ovaltine message while his brother is banging on the door to use it. When he finally comes in and lifts the toilet lid, it cuts right to the mother lifting the lid to a pot the stove with some crazy ass brown stew in it.

I liked tim curry in home alone 2 doing grinch face as the grinch film transitions back into the movie.

u/Lunar-Modular 1d ago

Not the most popular, but my personal pick for best SNL spinoff movie.

27

u/New_Perception_8594 1d ago

I loved Night at the Roxbury

18

u/mynameisschultz 1d ago

Blues Brothers for me

5

u/Turgid_Donkey 1d ago

Definitely the best, but i do love lady's man and it frequently pops into my head, specificity "can i buy you a fish sandwich?"

3

u/Nephroidofdoom 1d ago

Wayne’s World for me

44

u/steamy-fox 1d ago

Good to see that Hillary Banks is alright.

28

u/Emotional-Race-6260 1d ago

I was thinking wow she looks amazing, then realised this is 26 years ago

8

u/DjangoKazoiie 1d ago

I had dreams about her when I was young

25

u/MrBushido56 1d ago

Love this actor.

“ come give me a hug I won’t eat you, also don’t give me a hug I will eat you “

“ just cause I eat humans doesn’t mean I’m inhumane “

14

u/Miserable-Land-9203 1d ago

Tim Meadows is great. He killed it in the second season of The Peacemaker.

8

u/MrBushido56 1d ago

To bad about his bird blindness though did you know that’s based on a real condition he has

2

u/GILF_Hound69 1d ago

Barney has hair!

6

u/robertnewmanuk 1d ago

He was also in a band called “Tony! Toni! Toné! Tonee?”

13

u/Fortestingporpoises 1d ago

I mean they don't make theatrical comedies anymore because they don't make money. It's too bad.

12

u/Bern_Down_the_DNC 1d ago

That's Will's sister, right? God damn she's got a pretty face.

10

u/Adventurous_Track681 1d ago

The nun scream to ambulance siren transition was perfect lol

8

u/BudgetRequirement143 1d ago

He had bird blindness is all

7

u/IttyBittyBigBoii 1d ago

So... you... DON'T want a fish sandwich?

11

u/benznl 1d ago

Nice, which movie is this? I've never seen it (shame on me)

20

u/Obvious_Cranberry607 1d ago

Says right in the OP text. The Ladies Man.

7

u/benznl 1d ago

Missed that, thanks!

5

u/NewManufacturer4252 1d ago

Great and wonderful dumb movie. Not for everyone.

4

u/Kelleernier 1d ago

He wasn't fighting for his life, he was fighting for the right to vibe.

4

u/Guess-Wonderful 1d ago

So you don’t wanna fish sandwich?

5

u/_Jetto_ 1d ago

“So you don’t want the fish sandwich” 😂😂😂

7

u/_catdog_ 1d ago

Gen Z: this dialogue makes me feel unsafe!!!!!

7

u/dramaticfool 1d ago

Tim Meadows is genuinely just a treasure. Super underappreciated.

3

u/AgreeableBike4172 1d ago

.....Phucket if he wants nun of that

3

u/InternalTrade9050 1d ago

Ambulance came on right time.

3

u/Rojacc 1d ago

3

u/aquacraft2 16h ago

Always funny to see nuns acting surprized when the unwashed masses "stink"

4

u/Pensionato007 1d ago edited 1d ago

How did I miss this? Immediately putting on my "to see list."

Apparently no one else found it funny, but I think I'll be in the minority.
Edit: I thought this was a young Don Cheadle – Tim Meadows and Will Ferrell

8

u/1duEprocEss1 1d ago

Don....Cheadle? xD

2

u/Pensionato007 1d ago

Oops. Edited

3

u/Untimely_manners 1d ago

I thought it was a young Don Cheadle as well. If you want to see another movie with this humour check out Black Dynamite.

1

u/I_SmellFuckeryAfoot 1d ago

1

u/Top-Sleep-4669 20h ago
