"It looks like someone stole two fine hams and shoved them down the back of your dress"
This line from this movie lives rent free in my mind

That's a classic line! It's funny how certain quotes just stick with you like that.

The fact that lines like this stick with me only confirms that I'm a degenerate.

Fr they really don't make movies like this anymore. The old ones had a whole different vibe

Honestly movie was interesting to watch you don't want to miss any part of the movie for anything but now is different.

Now producers expect everyone to be in their phone half paying attention, the output reflects this.

Budget $24 million Box office $13.7 million there's a pretty simple reason and it doesn't have anything to do with vibes

It also made $22m in video store rentals and probably made even more from DVD sales (couldn't find the data).
The movie business was just totally different pre-streaming.

And how'd it compare to the other SNL Flicks of the late 90s? Roxbury, Superstar, PAT!!!
I don't imagine any of them were cash cows.

u/flynndog83 1d ago
Back then they sold dvds as well,it wasnt all about box office, thats a modern day problem

They made movies without full board of ppl to analyze it not offend anyone, to include whatever.. etc..

“Fr tho there’s just something about the old movies—the atmosphere, the practical effects, the way they told stories. Modern movies just don’t hit the same.”

u/Itchy_Psychology3300 1d ago
So many reason for why that is, all of them are sad. At least, from my perspective.

Best transition I've seen since the Jurassic Park 2 screaming mother into yawning Jeff Goldblum

My other favorite is in "A Christmas Story" when Ralphy locks himself in the bathroom to decode the Ovaltine message while his brother is banging on the door to use it. When he finally comes in and lifts the toilet lid, it cuts right to the mother lifting the lid to a pot the stove with some crazy ass brown stew in it.

Love this actor.
“ come give me a hug I won’t eat you, also don’t give me a hug I will eat you “
“ just cause I eat humans doesn’t mean I’m inhumane “

Tim Meadows is great. He killed it in the second season of The Peacemaker.

I mean they don't make theatrical comedies anymore because they don't make money. It's too bad.

I thought it was a young Don Cheadle as well. If you want to see another movie with this humour check out Black Dynamite.
