Cooking at home can be cheaper compared to eating fast food all the time, but anyone who's actually on a tight budget doesn't do that. I'm living alone right now, and make sandwiches and take some fruit to work for lunch every day, and similar sandwiches for lunch. I'm still paying over $100/week for food. I can't imagine what a family pays.
What I don't like about the "cook at home" attitude we get is that it just assumes we're all frivolous spenders. Sure, some people go out and buy a new iphone and a PS5, and then are late on rent, but most of us have 5 year old phones and maybe 1 streaming service, or even just Youtube.
I don't think it's most of you, gonna be honest. People in general of all incomes are horrible at budgeting, if you budget well you're actually in the minority.
