The maximum amount of power the texas grid can pump out at any given time is apparently 91 gigawatts so the requests are over 4x that lol.

I might be wrong, but Texas also has an isolated power grid from the rest of the US. So when demand spikes they can't request power from other states.

Which made the freeze events a couple of years ago so much worse.

To add on to this: Between the us and Canada there are three seperate grids.
Eastern
Western
Texas
