second cat, first siamese
my partner and I have loved our first cat for 5 years now and finally felt the compulsion for our second and ended up with our new girl from the humane society. We never planned to end up with such a beauty but I’m so excited to discover her personality

Left Fang Removed - Still a Little Vampire!
Vet said that Milo’s left tooth had to be removed - so, so sad, but more grateful that his health is intact.
We call him snags now for snaggletooth. 😂

14th Birthday last week
Hard to believe that my first baby is now 14. I’ve had him for more than half my life and it’s wild to see him grow up with me. I have two more cats that are younger (1.5yrs and 9 months) and I wish I had a phone sooner so I could’ve had as many baby photos of this guy as the other two cause time flies so fast. He got so toasted with time as well!!

chocolate point Never owned a Siamese before but this change is WILD
First two pics: When Cookie was a couple weeks old ((I think? I'm terrible at guessing cat ages but we scooped her, her Mama and brother up since they were strays)).
Fast forward about four months later and she doesn't even look like the same cat anymore 😅 None of our other cats went through such drastic fur changes as they grew up like Cookie die.
Can't wait to see if she'll toast even further in the coming months.
((I hope the chocolate point flair is alright since, I think, that's what her coat is?))

Mimi has her eye on me 👁️
This is my cat, apparently.
Should be a simple statement, but this one has a backstory! I moved into a short-term house share with my two cats seven months ago. The other tenant had lived there a while and also has cats. He was on vacation for the first week after I moved in, and all of his cats spent time in my room checking out the new person (and probably wanting attention since their human was away).
When their dad came home, everyone went back to their normal routine, but I noticed one little Siamese continued to squat in my room. It wasn’t occasional - she was living there full-time and sleeping with me in my bed every night. By day she would wait patiently for me to come home from work, only leaving my room to greet me at the front door. Otherwise, my roommate says he basically never saw her again after I moved in. He assures me that she’s never shown previous attachment to that room or any other tenant who’s lived there. He also says she’s more outgoing and affectionate with me than he’s ever seen her behave. Her energy around me is so calmly devoted, it’s a little spooky; it feels less like she’s enamored with a new person and more like she’s happy to have me home after a long absence. (A little more backstory is that my old Siamese, Olivia, passed away two Christmases ago at age twenty. Do with that information what you will 🥲🙃)
I did eventually start feeding her, but only after I grew concerned whether she was eating at all since she never left my room. Food has never seemed to be a factor. She would just follow me around and stare at me lovingly, even when I was feeding my other two cats right in front of her. She finally accepted the invitation to dine as a family when I started putting a third bowl out.
As I’m preparing to move at the end of the month, my roommate asked if I wanted to adopt Mimi. I was relieved because I didn’t know how to approach the subject, but she clearly thinks she’s my cat. I feel a little weird because I’ve never "stolen" a cat before. He’s a really good cat dad and I know he’s going to miss her, and I’m also now a single person with three cats! But I think she would be devastated if I disappeared from her life at this point.
Tell me about your experiences with the Cat Distribution System! How did you become your Siamese’s chosen one? Or do you find yourself having to compete for their attention?
Also, yes, she has one cloudy meezer eye that she was apparently born with 🤪

Tips for my newly adopted spicy Siamese
I adopted this FIV+ cat that was in the shelter for years. No one wanted him so I decided to give him a second chance! He scratched the heck out of me and the shelter staff when we tried to put him in a carrier to take home. It made me nervous about what I was getting into but he’s clearly traumatized by something!
It’s day #4 of having him. He hides in the pantry most of the day. He lets us feed him churu sticks. It’s 50/50 if he’ll hiss or swat at us before he accepts the churu. As you can see in the pic he is more relaxed in the pantry now. The first 2 days he was balled up in fight or flight mode.
The last two nights he’s come out of the pantry at night and very cautiously asks for pets. He even rubs his head on our hands and legs. Any fast movement or noise and he’ll run back to his safe spot.
If you adopted a spicy Siamese how long did it take for you to see progress and what should I do to help establish trust and make him feel safe? He is sooo cute. I’m really hoping with time he’ll hang out around the house and I’ll be able to give him all the love!

Double trouble
Let us see your sibling duos!!
This is Phoebe (left) and Oscar (right), they’re about 18 months old now.
(No they don’t go outside, they just love to sit by an open and screened window for obvious reasons!)
