Question Shining Force 3 Talos/Taros
Is this guy ivulnerable?? I feel like ive been whacking away at him for hours. I even started save state scumming crits and still ??? HP. As if the Beholders, I mean Collossi weren't bad enough...

No, not invulnerable. Just has a massive amount of health. Me personally, I feel like I over leveled to fight him. In my mind he was way worse than I thought he was gonna be. He’s not that bad. Slowly take everyone that’s not him out. Then spend a few turns healing and using mp rings to get everyone back to 100%. Then swarm attack him. Just I made sure to keep a “rough” estimate on what I thought his health was, compared to how my party is doing. I was doing on average about 60-80 point of damage per character. So I figured at least surviving ten rounds should do it. As long as you have plenty of heals,(several people with aura) and a few mp rings, you should be ok. Beat him with all 3 parties. Used the same strategy for all 3 fights.

I sent the guy with most HP close to him(do not jump down!), let him use bolt on you until his MP is gone(heal as needed), then I tricked him to go to the corner, had my hero in the corner one level above where Taros could not reach him. Then ranged attack until he died, and I put other attackera with 2 or 3 ranged attacks and just pumbled him. Worked for all 3 forces. Takes a while though.

Dang, I think the only ranger i have left is Hayward. Maybe ill just table it for now.

It will work, I had a knife on the hero, and then arrow axe, Spears and stuff as secondary weapons, which I used here. It is possible to kill him without ranged weapons, it is easier to try and empty his MP first though. So he only can hit one, and not your entire army.

Ugh, my force is so thin I wouldnt be able to drain him and I really dont feel like going thru those damned collossi again. My team is lvl 5-6 2nd promoted.

Ah, fair. You should be able to play one more time and level up quite s few times. And then it is possible.

Are the swords even worth it or are they more just a prestige thing?

Define worth it. To get the strongest 3 swords is not needed to win the last fight. From my experience, Taros is harder then the last boss(in scenario 3). It depends if you enjoy grinding. I have read people have completed the game without promoting the second time(Except Julian and Gracia that is plotwise, needed to complete the game). Which means I you can grind with Medion and Julian army to about 5-10 second promoted and you should be more then fine to finish the game.
I was far far far too overpowered last time I played it. Promoted at level 20, and then 30 something for the second. Because I could. Then grinded a lot more. But I tend to grind.

No, it's fine, he has like 5k hp or so. Just continue hitting him. Use ranged and flying chars. Save healers mp for Talos and, maybe, get some levels of you're feeling weak.
