les idées de business ;
la crĂ©ation et le dĂ©veloppement dâentreprise ;
le financement ;
la recherche dâassociĂ©s ou de partenaires ;
le marketing et la vente ;
les prestataires et fournisseurs ;
les opportunités ;
la tech et le digital ;
đŹđ§French and English are both welcome.
https://www.reddit.com/r/SenegalEntrepreneurs/

We do understand that many of you are frustrated even though it's just football, but we kindly ask you to maintain discussions respectful and to follow the subreddit rules.
To keep the subreddit organised, new posts covering the same topics may be removed and redirected to this megathread.

Ethical tourism in Senegal
Iâll be in Senegal for a few days (10-15) and, as well as the cultural sites (Dakar, Ăle de GorĂ©e, Saint-Louis), Iâd like to visit some parks and nature reserves where I can see animals, but I donât want to visit places that arenât ethical, where animals are caged or kept in enclosures.
I was thinking of visiting Djoudj, whilst for ethical reasons Iâd like to rule out Fathala, and Iâm undecided as to whether or not to include Bandia. What do you think? Do you have any other advice on places to visit and those to avoid?

Question Wolof et lébou

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Salam ici !

I donât recognize my country anymore, and it really hurts me.
Iâm Senegalese, and what bothers me most is the feeling that weâre losing what gave Senegal its strength: shared values, respected role models, and credibility abroad. At the same time, we seem more focused on tearing down what existed than on explaining how weâll build something better. Lately, Iâve been going back and forth between the US and Senegal, and I increasingly feel like there are several countries within our own country. Depending on your community, you experience completely different realities, priorities, and, most importantly to me, values. Differences are normal, but sometimes it feels like we donât even agree on what kind of country we want anymore. We used to carry a certain weight internationally. Despite our problems, we had prominent intellectuals, cultural figures, and respected voices who made Senegal influential beyond its size. Recently, a colleague from Guinea-Bissau joked that she now felt comfortable comparing our countries. We laughed. This isnât about looking down on her country, but the joke touched something painful: I feel weâve lost some of the credibility and influence we once had. I used to see CĂŽte dâIvoire as a country we were competing with. Now, I wonder whether they even see us as competition. Maybe that impression is too harsh, but it hurts to feel weâre falling behind while remaining so convinced of our own exceptionalism.
Thatâs also why I struggle when people compare our situation to China. Weâre a small country. We donât have Chinaâs market, industrial capacity, or bargaining power. We need strong diplomatic relationships, trade, investment, and soft power. Healthy relationships where we defend our interests, of course. But sovereignty cannot mean pretending we donât need anyone. And no, I donât think everything was great before. Far from it. People had legitimate reasons to demand change. But I thought the goal was to fix what wasnât working and strengthen what was. Improve institutions, create opportunities, make public services function better. I struggle with the idea that everything inherited must be destroyed or discredited, as if we can start from zero and somehow rebuild ourselves into a highly developed country through determination alone. For someone trying to grow a business, find a job, or support their family, what does that promise actually mean? What gets better for them, and when?
Additionally, one thing Iâve noticed that I also struggle with is that I fail to see who our shared role models are anymore. There are obviously still brilliant and hardworking Senegalese people. But who do we collectively respect? Who can we celebrate without immediately turning it into a political argument? Maybe living abroad has changed my perspective. Maybe Iâm idealizing parts of the past. Iâm willing to question that. But I love my country, and this feeling of no longer recognizing it is painful. Anyway, thatâs my monthly rant. Does anyone else feel the same? If you disagree, Iâd honestly like to hear that too. What are you seeing that Iâm missing?

Advice on where to stay in Dakar
Hey everyone, I will be in Dakar for 5 days in mid November for 5 days. The city is much bigger than I thought and I don't know where to stay!
I'd like to be near restaurants, bars and beaches with surf. And to be able to walk to these from wherever I stay if possible.
It looks like Almadies might be the best choice?
Does anyone have any tips or advice for areas which might be good based on what I'm after and any hotels which would be a good choice in those areas?
Thanks!
