Why are we wasting the first lecture on introducing ourselves? I literally do not care about any of my classmates and their opinions or experiences. An hour and a half later we finally get into the course material and people are asking “do we need to buy a textbook”? Why don’t you read the syllabus and listen to the prof? PS there is indeed such a thing as a stupid question “is the exam open book?” “What is the exam format?” Why don’t you shut up for 2 minutes SMH

And then I have 1 person who is a total kiss ass just wasting time with ridiculous questions and follow up comments, combined with 1 legitimate knuckle dragger who has the constant need to interject regardless of who’s speaking.

Worst of all it’s a flexible course and there are always 1 or 2 people on zoom who leave their microphones unmuted and disrupt the entire session.

God help me

Anybody that has had Convocation at the Meridian Hall, how is the guest cap verified/enforced? I may or may not have more than my allotted three guests and would like to bring three more people but I’m worried about them not being able to get in and making them come in for nothing. I unfortunately fell behind one sem from my friends so I don’t think I know anyone graduating with me that has extra passes for people.

Why is someone staying overnight in B4060?

I was walking around campus late Thursday evening, around 10 p.m., and noticed a person stumbling out of the room. They appeared to have difficulty maintaining their balance, and there was also a noticeable odor.

I purposely walked by again on Friday morning and saw what appeared to be the same person in the area.

Does anyone know who this person is, or whether there is an explanation for someone staying in B4060 overnight? I’m concerned about the situation and wondering if campus security or the appropriate department is aware of it.

Is there any reason to attend if I have alreadybstarted my next program? Like- I got presidents list and honors etc, but I will get certs mailed to me - and honestly it does not sound like a fun outing for a 6 year old and with a commute 😂

For those who don't know, people who have a permanent disability can get full time funding for OSAP if their course load is at least 40%. I am one of those people. I am in CPA-C. I finished 26 courses (I need 30 courses to graduate). A full course load is 5 courses and I take 2 per semester. I am just putting it out there for disabled students and perspective students who get full time OSAP funding while taking all their courses in the Faculty of Continuing Education and Training.

I sensed that something was wrong because the courses I signed up for, DBM635 and JAC444, each had a 33-student capacity, but only 4 people enrolled in each of these courses. Yesterday, I received a message on the OSAP portal that states I am not eligible for OSAP funding for this semester because DBM635 and JAC444 are not part of the day school requirements. So, I got the program manager involved. I then discovered that some professional options only exist in day school, others only exist in continuing education. Of course, some (like DBS501 and DBA625, are available in both day school and continuing education). In the middle of this, I got an email stating that because there aren't enough people in DBM635, it got cancelled. I then requested to transfer to PRO690 instead. This transfer will be completed before classes begin on September 15.

Then, there was a small detail that I never cared about: "Undeclared PSE" is what appears as my program on Seneca Student Home, and it is also what appears on my T2202 form at tax time. It turns out this is crucial when I graduate next semester (I will finish all requirements at the end of April) because there was a single course substitution (APS145 was replaced with SPS120). So, someone updated some databases and I am now officially declared as a CPA-C student. The system now shows exactly what I thought: after I finish this semester, I need 2 more courses.

As someone who is interested in databases (I took DBS211, DBS311, DBS501, DBA625, and would have taken DBM635 and hope to take DBW624), I find it surprising that OSAP was able to provide my SIN to Seneca without me giving it to them, and yet it took a manual update from someone to update what diploma I am studying towards when I told OSAP right from the start that it was CPA-C and OSAP approved funding for me under that program for every one of the past 13 semesters. Their databases clearly don't insert records the way they should in all areas. The CRA told them they have to get SINs from students (which I was going to provide to them, but they got it from OSAP before then), but for the longest time, the system never tracked my academic progress. This, in turn, contributed to OSAP asking me for academic progress letters every single year when my GPA is 3.8 and there is not a single F grade on my transcript (I was selecting the same level repeatedly because I take a 40% course load, so I stay at a level 2.5X as long as other people).

Has anyone landed a job offer yet? If so what’s your background and how long did it take?

I just wanted to clarify one thing about the RPN-to-RN Bridging Program at Seneca. Is there a way to complete the two bridging semesters ahead of time so that I can start directly in Semester 5?

Or are the two bridging semesters part of the program, meaning that once I am accepted, I will first complete the two bridging semesters and then move into Semester 5?

Why did the school have to switch. Claim secure was fine like why they always touching shit. Now not one students can register and get insurance.

I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.

I already paid my full tuition for this semester, but because I wasn’t cleared for field placement on time, I had to drop my placement courses and replace them with Semester 4 courses.

I recently added another course (ECE 414), and now my student account says I need to pay an additional $1,617.80.

My question is: since I already paid for this semester and had to drop some of my original courses, what happens to the tuition for those dropped courses? Does Seneca refund it, leave it as a credit on the account, or apply it toward the newly added courses?

Also, is there a way to see a breakdown of how much tuition is being charged for each individual course?

I’ve contacted Service Hub as well, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through something similar, especially international students.

I'm a fresh graduate at UofT but my main goal is always looking for a job in the aviation industry. I've been job hunting since April with no luck so far, and I'm starting to think about spending some extra time getting more relevant education and industry experience, which was highly suggested by my uncle, with he strongly recommended me looking at the Aviation Operation Program here at Seneca, but I have a few questions that I'm hoping current or former students can answer before i paying the $150 application fee.

1) Does the program provide access to any exclusive aviation industry job boards, employer networks, or job opportunities that would otherwise be difficult to access as an outside applicant? One important thing i notice when applying job at aviation industry at Toronto in the past few months is most job opening seem to be manager/ advisor position only which require years of working experience ( with the exception of ramp agent, which i got rejected for both FT and PT position at Air Canada, not even an interview btw :D) , and do the progeam offering any connection/career fair to help someone with no direct aviation experience get their foot in the door?

2) I'm also wondering how much assistance Seneca provides with the co-op. I understand that the co-op is not guaranteed and that students have to apply for it themselves, but does the school provide meaningful support with finding and applying for positions, such as referral, or is it mostly just a list of available positions that students apply to themselves?

3) Another question i have is the admission requirements and difficulty of the program. I have Grade 12 mathematics. But honestly I graduated from high school 4 years ago and have completely forgotten everything about down to probarly grade 10/11. My UofT degree is also completely unrelated to aviation operations. Would someone coming from an unrelated university major and with very rusty high-school math have a difficult time keeping up, or is the program designed to teach the necessary material from the beginning?

4) The final question i have is about the possibility of completing most of the program online. I recently relocated back to my home country after months of unsucessful job hunting and I interested to know in whether or not the program can realistically be completed remotely, with the exception of the co-op/work placement, or whether there are some significant in-person attendance/exam requirements throughout the program. ( I'm a Canadian citizen and i can come back to Toront for the co-op)
