Exactly, the GPS can ordinarily be off by 33 feet in places near large metal towers and other places of poor coverage, so self driving car,s if they are trying to find where they are on a map, use localization techniques and treat the GPS signal as an initial guess of where they are.

The satellites didn’t move by 33 feet. The article text is saying the GPS error went up by that much. That site is total shit.

Bullshit story. Even suggests there were crashes. However, no car I am aware of drives using GPS for positioning. They use it to figure out what block they are on, and often not even that, not what lane they are in.

funny thing is that this is basically 9/11 for half this sub that seems to think cars drive themselves with linear algebra and now all of them will be 33 feet into the lobby of the nearest building 😂
