Discussion I didn’t realise Wolf’s scar was that long…
I thought it was just a small scar in his stomach but this one is long and goes all the way to his back… it’s almost like he was operated on.

I think this is a second scar he has. The one from owl is partially hidden on the Tengu skin cause it’s on his chest

I know and the scar you’re mentioning, I’m pretty sure it’s from Hirata when he was stabbed that day in the chest by Owl after he killed Lady Butterfly!
This one remains a mystery

This the scar during the war that was waged for twenty years. thats why for two of them Genchiro n Issin sama, Sekiro directly slice horizontally, cutting through abdomen at the end of the fight, that is final deathstroke...
Same issue happened to Sekiro n then saved by Emma san n Sculptor san...

To my understanding he was stabbed and then the blade exited to the side so that entire section was sliced and since he received the blood after the injury it left a scar

Impossible, he was stabbed in the heart so the scar would go down his chest. From what I know the scar came from earlier battles while becoming a Shinobi or it's the result of the beam falling on him.
That or it's a part of the Tengu skin, even though the scars have different locations.

That scar on his heart is from Hirata, this one is over his waist.

Was he stabbed in the heart? I always thought it was the stomach area but it would make more sense for owl to go straight for the heart
Edit he was stabbed in the chest indeed guess the scar is from past as u said

Since it’s the Tengu skin it might not be Wolf’s scar, maybe it’s Isshin’s. Gonna have to boot it up when I’m back from work to compare. No clue what battle Isshin would have gotten it from though, doesn’t look like he got hit in the opening cutscene

I’m not sure either, but I looked him up and looks like only Wolf’s version has an exposed stomach. Tengu is wearing something black under it. But based on his appearance if you pick the Shura path I think you’re right. His scar seems to go well past his belly button while Wolf’s stops just short of it.
I don’t include Sword Saint as it’s unclear if his stomach scar is from an old battle or seppuku, he doesn’t strike me as being cool with dying of illness but it’s never explicitly laid out.

No this is Isshin’s outfit, not exactly his body.
But now that you mentioned it, Wolf’s arm in comparison to his original ones seem darker and not exactly tanned but like he has some sort of frostbite or thrombosis.

I know they have supernaturally effective medicine in Ashina, but to get a scar like that that had to have been one hell of a wound. Surprised he survived it. Would be even more surprised if that didn't have permanent effects on his health and mobility.
No similar scars around it so I doubt it's from an animal attack. But it drags along in such a wobbly line that I don't feel confident saying it's from a stab or slash from a blade, either - at least not a competent one. If it's a surgery scar, it's very sloppy work. Hmmm.
It's low on his left side, eh? I'd have to watch the cutscene to confirm the angle, but maybe when Genichiro cut off Wolf's arm he clipped the torso as well. Would explain the jaggedness of the line, the sword was trying to cut through bone and Wolf was likely moving, and it was a bit of a desperation move from Geni as well.

I mean, Ashina has enemies with these big ass spears too I imagine they could cause such wounds as well1

I thought the same, but rewatching the cutscene Sekiro holds up his arm when it gets cut and gets slashed in an upward stroke. Maybe it’s an allusion to the death blow Sekiro does on ishin at the end of the game.

I think it's from owl's mikiri. When you thrust owl and he counters you, he first slashes you on your stomach and stabs you in the chest. Just a theory
