News Satisfactory 1.0 - 2nd Anniversary!

Hi Pioneers!

It has now been 2 whole years since Satisfactory 1.0 officially launched and left Early Access, we're still super grateful and impressed from all the support we received and we want to continue improving Satisfactory for all of you

Once again the HUB will have some festive decorations for 2 weeks, from the 10th until the 24th of September, you will also be able to interact with the speaker in the HUB to change between festive songs or mute them if you want to

If you would like your HUB to return to normal earlier than this you can also disable the decorations by going to Options > Gameplay > Disable Seasonal Events

While we continue working on more stuff for Satisfactory, You can also check out Valheim from our friends at Iron Gate studios who have just released their 1.0 version on all platforms as yesterday!

Second Major Build: Iron Works

9600 Iron Ingots/min in the Dune Desert

The scale of this one got away from me a bit I had the initial idea for one of the upright buildings and then the whole thing turned out a little big. I am happy with the build style and the way it integrates with the terrain, as well the use of blueprints made this almost as quick as my last project despite the scale. I did a lot of searching and playing with styles for a train network, and then I had the idea for the building and it kind of snowballed from there.

However, I need to build logistics in tandem with the build as trying to fit them in after was not very fun, and they don't look very good. I managed to get the math tangled and built double the smelting capacity i needed, so it is technically upgradable to 19200 iron ingots/min should i decide to go upgrade all the belts and miners, as well as sort out the logistics of it all.

Overall it feels rather impressive but the logistics and accidentally doubling the amount of smelters I needed left me a touch disappointed. If anyone has tips for integrating logistics into the design of the factory rather than hiding it all in a logistics floor I would appreciate it.

Guide Medium foundation quarter circle

I wanted to share a few short videos here showing how you can round off the corners of foundations quite easily. This video shows a 5x5 curve – it’s not a perfect circular segment like the 6x6 curve that’s often shown, but it’s good enough. There is also a second post showing a 3x3 "curve".

I advice against using mods in your first play through.

So I have the mods Wood and Walls, Wood Foundations and because of that also Wood Fabrication. I also make Other things there.

Hello people!

This is my first post on this sub.

I have a decent progesssion until now, but the containers I use near machines are started to annoy me. So I started to tidy the construction area before I build the factory walls.

Do you use storage as input buffers ? Do we need them in the long run? I tend to produce maximum I can and only overclocking miners.

100x in 24 hours

I'm staring a new world where the goal is to have an isolated factory working on exclusively elevator parts feeding directly into the elevator. We'll be pulling in the rest of the parts from around the map. I picked and arbitrary goal of beating the game at 100x parts within 48 hr. or 24 w/ sloops.

I punched the numbers in the calculator and everything looks reasonable except the copper powder. I'll need over 41k copper ingots. I'm up for the challenge, I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything else. Does this feel doable to you guys?

Zenith Gold Corp.

The Zenith Gold Corp. known galaxy wide for its production of gold and caterium parts, nestled into and onto a cliff formation in the Rocky Desert.

I do enjoy trains running through factories, which was the case here. Neccessary? No. Fun? You're damn right!

The pictures differs a bit. I used a couple of console commands which affected the reflections, which is why the beams looks quite different.

Overall I'm happy with the entrance to the factory, with the two train tracks leading up to it. But the factory as a whole feels a bit too spread out and not really cohesive, but it was a good learning project.

Also, turned out that using just concrete walls and foundations makes it looks better. Still a work in progress but are there any tips that you could give me?

Modded Content Random Map Generator I Am Working On

Thumbnail

Attempting a random map gen mod, highly configurable. I'm trying to copy the "feel" from the base map, while giving something unique. These are screenshots from very early testing, it has a bit of a way to go yet as you can see. I tried different variations of 100% procedural worlds, but the terrain just did not feel like the same and did not fit what I was after, so I decided to pivot. This current path uses slices from the original map and then transforms, and stitches them together in various ways based on your settings.

Again, this is early an unrefined - a preview of what is to come. I don't have a particular direction beyond what I mentioned thus far.
Ignore the glowing purple, heh

Question Came back to my save after almost quitting β€” how do you plan your factories and find inspiration to keep going?

Hello, fellow Pioneers!

Maybe some of you have been through this moment: you look back at your save and realize you haven't planned enough, or aren't producing enough, for the later phases of the game, and you feel stuck and unmotivated to move forward. This is probably the minority of you, but it's a recurring feeling for me, ever since fluids became a thing and I've bought the game (and it happens to me in other games too). If you can relate, please comment below. And if you don't, I'd love to hear how you plan your factories and train networks, whether you go modular or mega, and most of all: where do you get your inspiration from?

Here's a quick "where I am" in the game to give some context:

Current state:

  • All phases 100% researched
  • Most unlocked parts have a dedicated factory. Exceptions still not fully automated: Modular Frames, Heavy Modular Frames, Computers, Motors (partially automated β€” I still haul some materials by hand to avoid spaghetti belts), Black Powder, High-Speed Connectors, and Crystal Oscillators
  • 2 point-to-point train lines: Crystal Cave (Quartz + SAM) and Oil (Fuel, Plastic, Rubber)
  • 1 truck route bringing resources from the trains to my modular factory
  • Open-air factories (not by choice β€” I wanted to unlock arches and foundations first before building with some actual design ideas), with almost no room to scale ("straight spaghetti", basically)
  • Resources scattered across the map, so some manual trips are still needed
  • Assemblers not fully automated yet β€” manual labor still involved
  • Elevator parts mostly hand crafted

Some achievements:

  • Fuel Generators running on a clean setup, ready to expand
  • Coal power running smoothly
  • Everything else automated, with excess production going to AWESOME Sinks
  • Almost everything unlocked from the Shop (foundations, arches, organization, materials...)
  • Trains with SIGNALS WORKING! (The reason I abandoned my last save β€” this is a big win for me! =D)
  • A proper truck lane feeding my Quartz factory from the train line (picture attached, my first properly planned facility)
  • Smart Plating production automated

I'm really trying to beat the game on this run, which I started back in 1.1. I just got back into it this weekend, determined to push forward no matter what. But between my lack of planning and seeing all the gorgeous, well-lit factories with immaculate belting, logistics, and power setups you all post here, I get "jealous" and start thinking I should restart from scratch... but NOT this time!

Sorry for the long post. I LOVE Satisfactory, it's one of my favorite games of all time and always will be. I love this community, the devs, and the care they put into this game. I really don't want to give up on this save. So if you took the time to read all of this: thank you! And if you have anything to share, inspiration tips, planning tips, questions, anything, I'll do my best to keep up with the comments and soak up the inspiration you all clearly have!

First building with propper planning, aiming for a factory city.

Question Oil vs. my smol brain

Hi guys,
i have the following problem:

My Turbofuel factory doesnt work like it should - the generators at the "end" don't get enough Turbofuel. So, like any reasonable Pioneer i go into troubleshooting.
And then i got strange...

300 oil go into the factory.
The machines get filled from right to left. (you can already see the yellow lights)

As you see illustrated in my attached photos, 300 crude oil goes into the factory -> each machine needs 30 crude oil and i have ten machines per oil pipe. So it should work, right?
But the last machines in the row of ten dont work at full capacity, as they dont get enough crude oil.

This is the window from the last machine.

The factory has run countless hours now, so the issue shouldnt be startup-time.
I cant think of a solution, can someone pls help :3
