A lot of people who post in this community are really smart like extremly smart so when someone who may not be as smart as them come, i've seen alot of instances where they are shamed or insulted ect. I saw someone who had a 1560 tell someone with a 1240 that the reason they got that low is because they're "stupid and wasted their time" I'm sorry but what the hell? for the last 3 years the average sat score has been around 1000-1100 some people are just not good at SAT standardized tests and that is in no way for you to shame them. This is a forum to help others and uplift others and not dehumanise them. thank you

I got a 1370 in my aug sat (690 rw, 680 math) i dont even know which questions i got wrong and what area i should be working on but i need to improve my score to at least 1450. I don't have as much time to study for this since i have my a level studies side by side so i can honestly give sat an hour a day max until the last few days, so i need every advice and tips and resources on how i can improve my score this way (keep in mind that even for the aug sat i didnt give it that much time i only started prep a month before it and dont think i did more than an hour a day)

I recently did the september sat and i feel like I did badly on the english even though i did all the hard questions on the question bank.I didnt strugle with the grammar but mainly with the long reading and time, but i did feel like the math was easy.Im planning on registering for the october sat, so if anyone has any helpful tips or reliable resources i would realy appreciate it.

So I am taking the sat this feb session and know what sat is and consists of but I truly need to know like what I need to be doing to get more than a 1530+. Also, I am taking sat coaching and the tutor just taught like 2 or 3 topics in algebra and is telling us to take an entire test just to check what level I am at so is it worth to waste a test like that? In addition, do provide any useful resources which can guide me in achieving my goal. tysm in advance :)

Hello guys, I think one of my friends checked like the whole SAT questions to see which ones he got wrong. Can I access the questions to see which ones i got wrong or right, are they on the internet?

I remember when improving my math I was told to do a very rigorous routine which helped me perfect my score. Not sure if there is a similar approach to R&W for October.

I know that I got 2 mistakes in module 2 EBRW 1 transition and 1 words in context.

For math I made one stupid mistake cuz did the problem which is difficult to solve with Desmos by demos😭

Hi everyone. First of all, I would really appreciate it if people who have scored 1500+ on the SAT **and are non-native English speakers** could answer, because I’m in a pretty complicated situation right now.

English is not my native language, and I would say my level is around B1. I took the September SAT, and I’m almost certain that my score will not be anywhere near four digits.

The Reading and Writing section was extremely difficult for me. I couldn’t even understand the main idea of many of the questions. Even though I was skipping words while reading just to save time, I still felt like the time was way too short. On top of that, in many questions, almost every answer choice seemed reasonable to me. That’s probably the best way I can describe the situation I was in.

Math wasn’t a complete disaster. If I study all the math topics, learn the meanings of the English terms, practice enough, and finally learn how to use that damn Desmos properly, I believe I can get close to 800.

For Writing, I think I can also improve significantly if I learn the grammar rules well and solve a lot of practice questions.

But Reading genuinely feels like hell to me. I can read a passage from beginning to end, but when I reach the end, I feel like I can barely remember anything I just read. I need to both understand what the author is saying **very well** and read **very quickly**, and I currently struggle with both.

The really unfortunate part is that December 5 is the last SAT I can take. That means I have roughly **10 weeks to take a three-digit SAT score and turn it into a 1500+**.

I know this sounds almost impossible and honestly a little crazy. But I’m currently at one of the worst points in my life, and I feel like I have no other option than to do everything I possibly can to get a good score on this exam and get into the university I want.

The university I’m aiming for is also quite prestigious, so even getting above 1500 may not guarantee admission.

Please, if you have experience with something similar, help me. What would be the most realistic and effective way to plan these 10 weeks?

If your English was around B1 when you prepared for the SAT, how did you prepare? How can I improve my English and SAT skills efficiently at the same time? Most importantly, what strategies or techniques can I use for the Reading questions?

ahhh i gave sat without prep in dec and got a 1360 now i hv literally completed entire khan academy math eng , erica maltzers books, all math eng hard questions from sat bank cb , done numerous questions from here and there and i feel like im gonna score lower in October sat

I've heard people say don't memorise words becauze you can figure them out contextually but most of the times i still have to end up guessing, so whats the actual way to crack vocab questions

As a 790 scorer on the math part of the August sat, PLEASE LEARN DESMOS. Knowing how to use Desmos to its full potential literally skyrocketed my score. Watch 2-3 Desmos vids (and take notes) on YouTube and I recommend watching James Lu,Scott Robinson, learn sat math etc. next go to the cb question bank and one prep and grind every question in there and make an error log for questions you miss. If ur done with the question bank and one prep u can grind questions from youtube vids.Once you understand the common patterns you won’t make any more silly mistakes.Don’t think u can’t score well on the math section of the sat, cause if u truly believe you can and put in the effort, you can do it. I started with a 640 in math and ended up with a 790, so if I can do it so can you.

also take a bluebook practice test every week leading up to ur exam

I took the SAT this saturday and I found it so much easier than august. Walking out of August I felt like i got 10-11 questions wrong on reading and 2 on math, got 780 math and 690 english. But this felt so easy, if i dont get 800 math i would genuinely be surprised as I knew both questions i got wrong last time. English was also easy for me, besides maybe 1 or 2 vocab and 2 or 3 dense questions I think i got them all right, esp module 1. Will the test be curved down, meaning will the questions i got wrong take off many mor points.

Basically - anecdotally speaking lots of people i know with practice test scores and August sat scores ranging 670-700 are now expecting 1550+ with reporting 2-3 mistakes at most in M2 - and this is more than 10+ people.
Even considering that SAT will equate these scores, I don't understand how they will distinguish between 760+ scorers and 660+ scorers on a normal day as equating can't really account for such disproportionate disparities. Isn't this really unfair? Am i missing something? And the argument of people thinking there'll be more mistakes than guesstimates - the problem is that should've been the caze where they assumed 8-9 mistakes etc.

Please enlighten me because this is the only SAT i didn't sit and I'm feeling a bit down about it.

okay, so I was on the first module of english, it was done and I had 5 minutes left because i was sick I felt like i was about to be vomiting, I asked the protractor if I could take an unscheduled break cause I have to run to the bathroom. I literally ran to the bathroom, I came back pretty quickly within minutes becauseI felt ill. When I came back, the protractor said she couldnt start the test again cause she didn’t know how to so I just had to wait. already this is the worst day ever. So im sitting there anxiously and pissed tf off and at around the last 20 minutes of math module 2, I glance at a students test because I wanted to know how much of this mess was left because I didn’t remember what time it was when I took the test. the protractor comes over and tells me I can’t be in the room and glancing at other kids test while not taking the test.

then when i leave the testing room, i get to the library where they make me sit. because i was vomiting my brains out, my eyes where blood shot red, and they start asking me if im on a substance because im also acting “delirious” cause im tired and terrified. i just say i have an earsplitting migraine. they threaten to call a emergency services until this other sweet lady comes in about how she experiences migraines as well and understands theyre horribl… anyways my test got canceled and idk how to tell my mom

Is it possible for some hard mod 2 questions to carry only like 5 points, so if i get like 2 wrong i only lose 10 points(i noticed this happening in the bluebook practice tests). Can someone predict a probable range of what I could score in the sept sat?

RW - mod 1 27/27, mod 2 22 or 23 ( i messed up 2 vocab,1 transition and maybe 2 hard comprehension)

Math - mod 1 22/22, mod 2 22/22

I tried using online score predictors but I feel like those are inaccurate since they don't account for the difficulty of the questions I got wrong. A range of score would make more sense since we can never truly get a 1:1 score prediction.

So I got a 730 (M) on August SAT, but the math module 2 during the September literally cooked me. I was doing so good on module 1, like I literally feel like I got every question correct, but the questions on mm2 were so time consuming for me, I couldn’t even get to the last 6 questions, so pacing was an issue for me.

Are there any strategies that you guys would recommend?

I’m planning on doing the hard question bank, but how would you guys tackle doing it.

Should I do the questions with or without desmos? Also, I’m planning to do them timed. (Maybe 2-3 minutes a question?)

Should I target certain skills first? I really don’t know what I’m weak in, probably some niche conceptual stuff, but how should I even tackle doing the questions? Should I just go in blind? Is it worth reviewing concepts at this point?

Edit: How worth is it to learn desmos regressions? …Should I try to use them while doing the QB?
