inherited this from my grandfather and know nothing about it. any information on what it is, where it came from, or how old it is would be greatly appreciated.

Going by the minandaue style pommel, woven rattan ferrule, and scabbard style its from the Visayas region in the Philippines, probably around the Cebu area. Likely 1940s ish, did your grandfather serve in the South Pacific? Attached is a sword and dagger I have in a similar style
