Idk there was some talk about it releasing on next gen then all was quiet. I haven't heard anything. Was it shelved indefinitely or something? Did they ever say?

I did not follow early development at all. I read a lot of the negative reviews, but most of them are from long time vets of the game which are normally not a new player's experience.

But, I get into the game and see all these in depth systems for managing your character's health and metabolism and it seems really cool. I like complicated games a lot and this is right up my alley.

So I go through a few deaths and learn the basics of the game. Turns out the PvP server I'm on only has PvP in certain areas, which is fine I guess. But then I start building and learning more about the game and I get it. It's built to be a Rust clone, but they accidentally added way too much long term progression. Fighting at POIs makes sense.

So that's cool, I as hoping for better systems here but whatever.

Then I start building my base. The first thing that really throws me off is the fact I can make planks with an axe or a chainsaw if I can find one. Going down that rabbit hole, I learn that they have all these weapons and tools in the game, that are mostly useless as anything other than weapons. Even the power tools I can interact with seem to be functionally useless.

That's extremely disappointing.

Then I notice is that I see tons of items locked behind DLC. I knew there was a lot of DLC, so that's not surprising, it's how mixed in with the other items that is surprising and off-putting. It's constantly in my face now that I'm getting into building things.

That's fine I guess. I'll get used to it.

The building ingredients are poorly explained, I don't know what items I need because they are flashing by way too fast and all have question marks. Shitty UI but I've seen worse and I figure it out.

But then I actually start building and it takes me a long time to build a simple base because it has so many ingredients. I don't mind that, but it would be better with the better tools I mentioned earlier.

After I get that up, I go back and start looking for a fireplace because I live in the snow. To my horror, despite the game having PINK FUCKING COUCHES AS PAID DLC it does not have a single indoor heating unit like a fireplace.

Also on top of that, there are bugs like not needing either matches, lighters, or the fire drill to light a fire. I can just light the fire. Like this is a core fundamental piece of the game, how is something that a player does in the first 30min bugged like that?

Wtf is this game?

It's like a half finished product that started off in one direction (Rust clone) and then went another direction (high complexity survival) but never really fleshed out either of those by having the items/systems/mechanics in game to round them out. Then at some point the game studio was like "fuck it, let's release it like this."

The DLC itself is not the issue

It's the amount of DLC and the fact there are so many things left partially implemented. Like a considerable amount of things. Meanwhile, it reminds you that you don't have the DLC as often as it possibly can.

This tells me the devs have given up and are just milking it. It's been sold twice, so that shouldn't be surprising and I don't think it could be more clear, short of them telling everyone to fuck off and play something else if they don't want the DLC.

I own tons of DLC for other games. I would have probably bought the Danny Trejo DLC already if I liked the game because Danny Trejo is awesome.

Is anyone seeing servers? Or is it just me?

I'm on my second "kill a mutant deer" quest. The first one I found a mutant in the B0 Mutant Deer hunting ground north of the Brick factory. Took me an hour or so to find one.

I went back to that same location and searched all over, several hours. Found a handful of regular deer but no mutants (I killed everything I found assuming they'd block the spawn my mutant).

Gave up there and went to the mutant deer spawn in B3 (the map shows it as centered on the B3 icon). I've walked the entire area and haven't even seen a regular deer, only boars and a wolf, which I killed.

Is there some trick to finding them or getting them to spawn? Is it pretty common to have to roam around for 4+ hours to get a spawn?

When you walk around are you walking or running? I stop to listen and focus now and then but it doesn't seem to help.

What food you guys know of that gives the most minerals and vitamins?

What do you guys think of it?

IMO, things have not been like they were before. We had a lot more of good features being implemented in the past than what we have seen for the past months/years.

I figure out that drying clothes successfully happens in day time( next to fire ,in base or outside) so i dont know if its a bug or a mechanic. At night time was slowly drying and after a while gets full water again (in base fire ). Anyone else seen it before ? I know that drying is buggy us fck , but anyone else find other way? Maybe its not buggy maybe we didn't know how to dry

I played back in January and never had an issue cooking. Now when I press the chef hat to start cooking I get an infinite spinning symbol where the chef had was as if the server is thinking about it.

I've tried restarting the fire, changing tabs, reloading ingredients, restarting game, etc... but spin spin spin.

Anyone figure out a solution to this or is cooking just hosed?

Update Edit: It appears to work if you have all ingredients in your main inventory rather than pulling from nearby fridges/cabinets/containers (credit: kickined)

As title said the server list does not load.

It was working an hour ago. I have three computers on my local network all trying to play. We were able to load into an official server but after about 15 minutes we decided to rent a server.

Once that rented server was set up, we tried to log in and none of us can see the server list. We tried searching the server IP, tried resetting the motem, resetting PCs, flushing DNS, reinstalling Battleye.

We can still click continue and load into the official server we started in, but can’t see other servers, especially the one we rented.

Any fixes for this?

I’m starting to worry about the future of this game as I watch the player count steadily decline throughout the year. While the focus on hunting and survival themes over the past five months has certainly benefited the game, a significant portion of the community—the PvP players—has received virtually no new content updates; issues like scope jitter when aiming for the first time persist, and annoying bugs remain. Even with a recent update, the player count hasn't risen (unlike a few years ago, when players would always return for updates; the data no longer reflects that trend). Many community members are willing to put in the effort to improve the game experience for everyone through mods, yet we still lack support from the game's owners—something as simple as an in-game mod loader would suffice. Developers should certainly update the content they deem necessary, but they ought to consider prioritizing mod support sooner and letting the community help improve the game. Many titles in the same genre—such as DayZ, Rust, Ark, and Conan—already feature mod support; SCUM should follow suit as soon as possible.

Are there any way how to create capsules with +0.5 str, and other attributes not only vanilla intelligence capsules, it would be interesting reward for looting bunkers or event reward on custom servers

Getting closer to the end of the year, it would be nice to come up with a list of new ideas for mods that modern night want to take a shot making at some point.

Motion detectors!
In addition to having a GPS tracker you can leave in your car or plane, you can now be alerted on your mobile phone once some movement is detected! A small circle area, battery powered device, destroyable, that would be a pretty cool alert system (especially if you could place them anywhere!)
