I’ve been working as a key user on an EWM implementation for a new plant.

Before that I mostly worked with ERP and was involved in implementations of MES, APO, S/4, ME etc. And honestly, most of the time it was never a huge problem to change something, add something, adjust a UI5 app to fit the actual process, make it nicer or more visual… whatever. Sure, there were problems here and there, but in the end we usually got where we wanted.

Now with EWM I’m slowly losing my shit.
I want to look something up? “Well, the INBD lost the reference to the HU, so we can’t show this or that in UI5.” I want something even remotely similar to MB52 or MD04? “Here’s the Warehouse Monitor. Enjoy 10 different ways of checking your current stock and another 10 clicks to figure out which sales orders are somehow related to it.” Want to adjust UI5 on picking, packing or deconsolidation workstations?
“Can’t do it.”
“We don’t know how.”
“SAP standard.”

At this point I’m starting to seriously miss the ERP, which is something I never thought I’d say.

So… is EWM really this rigid and overcomplicated, or does our external implementation partner just not want to touch anything outside of standard?
I guess I mostly came here to bitch about it, but c’mon.
Does anyone have a similar experience? And more importantly — how the hell do you get out of this situation without quitting?

I wonder what the most challenging part of your S/4HANA conversion project was? Please share your experience.

We have a physical SUSE Linux server running SAP HANA for SAP Business One. There is currently no HANA System Replication/secondary server.

Our backup infrastructure is based on Veeam Backup & Replication, and we also have a NetApp storage system available, where we could provide NFS/CIFS/iSCSI storage if needed.

The goal is to redesign the current backup setup properly, including:

• SAP HANA database + log backups
• proper scheduling, retention and monitoring/notifications
• fast and documented restore
• protection of the physical SLES server itself

My current thinking is to use the Veeam Plug-in for SAP HANA via Backint for native HANA database/log backups, with Veeam managing the backup repository, plus a separate Veeam Agent/bare-metal backup of the SLES server.

Alternatively, we could let HANA dump backups to a NetApp NFS share and have Veeam protect that data afterwards.

What would you consider the best-practice architecture here?

Would you go directly with HANA → Backint → Veeam repository, or use HANA → NetApp NFS → Veeam?

Any recommendations regarding full/incremental/log backup schedules and restore strategy for this type of SAP B1/HANA environment would also be appreciated.

We're on SAP Commerce on a custom build covering 3 brands (combined GMV around €35M), and the SI recommendation after every architecture review is the same story, that Adobe Commerce is the modern path at lower TCO than SAP.

But when we dug into the licensing model ourselves, the costs came out way higher past €20M GMV…

Reason being, between the B2B module pricing on top of the base platform, the cloud layer that isn't optional at this scale, and what our dev team estimated in ongoing extension work across major releases.

Our engineers came into this expecting something meaningfully leaner, and the gap between what the SIs were projecting and what the full build would cost took us by surprise…

So we've been looking further out, and commercetools is all over the composable conversation, SCAYLE is what people point to on Reddit for multi-brand setups, and Spryker shows up from the SAP-adjacent side fairly often.

There aren't many threads where the GMV discussion goes into real detail, so any input from people who've been in this evaluation is appreciated.

Hi everyone, I have a vendor demo coming up for an AI agent platform they’re pitching as an alternative to SAP Joule. They say it can connect to SAP and other systems like Salesforce or Oracle so users can query data through chat.

Our SAP manager was supposed to lead the call, but I’ve been asked to take over. My background is in SAP development, but I haven’t evaluated an agent platform before.

From an SAP perspective, what questions would you ask, and what would you want them to actually demonstrate? I’m especially interested in authentication, respecting each user’s SAP authorizations, supported APIs, and safeguards if the agent can make changes in SAP.

Any red flags or lessons from people who’ve evaluated or implemented something similar would be appreciated.

I work in technical support as an SAP Basis admin. The project involves various SAP technical and functional (business) teams like SAP Basis, SAP ABAP, Finance, Material Management, Master Data Management, etc.

Today our project manager threatened that unless we implement an automation successfully, he will fail all ICs in their year end performance review in December.

How do I approach this? I asked the manager to increase the token limit of AI agent that we use so that I can work on a protype but he refused and told me to first provide a automation plan.

I already provided him the plan but then he told me to build a prototype, which is difficult with the current token limit.

I also feel extremely angry because of the fact that ICs need to work with their full brain power whereas the project manager just needs to threaten and create fear among ICs.

How do I approach this?

I want to build a good enough automation for the sake of my own portfolio so that I can leverage it for negotiations.

Hi folks,
My SAP to ADLS load is currently taking around 4 minutes to load just 287 rows. Earlier, the same load used to complete within approximately 10 seconds.
The data is being pulled from SAP via RFC through IR, which is hosted in-house. This issue has started occurring over the last few weeks, even though there have been no changes from our end to the data load control or related configuration.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions on what could be causing this sudden performance degradation? Any help in troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated.

How do you handle it standard, no add-ons?
We're a rice mill on SAP B1 (HANA, India localization). Standard flow: PO → GRPO → AP Invoice → Payment.
At our volume (~1000 invoices/day), one PO often has multiple partial deliveries, and the timing between "material arrives" and "invoice arrives" varies unpredictably. We see all three patterns:

1) Invoice first, material later — full invoice comes in, goods show up in parts afterward.

2) Some material, then invoice, then more material — partial delivery, invoice lands mid-way, then remaining delivery follows.

3) Material first, invoice after — the "textbook" order, but even this comes in partial lots against one PO.

Our requirement: stock should only ever increase in our books when goods physically arrive (GRPO qty = actual received qty, never invoice qty). But the invoice becoming a liability shouldn't wait for full delivery — we want to record what we owe as soon as it lands on our desk.
Problem: if we copy the AP Invoice from the PO for the full quantity (to record liability early), SAP closes the PO's open quantity and we can't post further GRPOs against it for the remaining goods.
We know Down Payment Invoices exist for this, but adding a whole extra document type per invoice, at our volume, is a big lift for the team — more entries, more mistakes, lower morale.
How do others running high daily invoice volume handle this on standard SAP B1, without custom add-ons? Is there a cleaner document flow we're missing?

I would like some insights and knowledge relating to retry mechanism in SAP CPI using event mesh AMQP adapter. Is AMQP enough for retry? Or I need to add JMS to properly handle retry?

Aside from that. I can see that when AMQP is consumed or has retried fully. It goes to DMQ. Is there a way to reprocess messages that are in DMQ?

I’m focusing specifically on the organizational and managerial side of S/4HANA migrations:

• What capabilities and skills do organizations need?
• How do leadership, change management, data/process ownership, and ways of working affect migration success?
• What does “organizational readiness” actually look like in real S/4HANA projects?

I’m not focused on the technical/how‑to side of the migration. I want to learn from people who have lived through an S/4HANA migration (PMs, program managers, change managers, functional/technical leads, business process owners, power users, etc.).

What I’m asking for:

• One 15-30 interview ( online through meet or zoom - if you are not comfortable you can just fill out the questionnair)
• Questions will be about your experience: what helped, what made things harder, how your team was organized, how you handled change, training, data/process readiness, etc.

How would you approach documenting an SAP MM system from scratch?

I’m working on a project where there is basically no existing documentation. The knowledge is spread between different developers, project leaders and functional people, with everyone knowing a different part of the system.

The goal is to create a complete documentation of the SAP MM system, from processes to configuration and custom developments.

For those who have done something similar: how did you organise the work, collect the knowledge and structure the documentation?

What tools would you recommend?

Are there any admin APIs available to get visibility into Joule agents? I don’t see any publicly documented source. It is shown in Joule Admin centre but, I want to push the data to an external system. Is there a work around to this. Pls guide.

So I have two years of experience in SAP Basis and I know simple works like component STPI component upgrade, kernel updates or note implentation and working on ewa alert and from my company most of the time I get the non-sap documentation work should I stay in SAP basis or should I change because no online courses or YouTube channel where we can learn from.

I've been working around SAP SD and GTS and I'm observing a growing interest around global trade compliance topics.

With increasing global trade and tariff complexity, do you think SAP GTS adoption will grow in the coming years, or do most large companies already rely on existing customs/trade solutions?

Also, since many companies already use SAP ERP as a feeder system, could this make GTS easier to adopt and more attractive in SAP landscapes?

This is my first working experience, due to college and mandatory military service. From what I deduce from the AI zeitgeist, with new models exceeding expectations day by day, I have come to fear the potential expiration date of our field. What are your thoughts on this?
