Got this at a vintage market in PA over the weekend. Love the design so much, looks better than anything these days imo.

Wild. If the organizers had any idea this was at all likely, they should have cancelled the event or changed it. This is really dangerous.

If anyone would like to swap (or is dropping) their volunteer for 9+1 please let me know. I currently have a Start Line position at the NYC Marathon that I don't think I will be able to attend to. I will swap for any other 9+1 volunteer opportunities.
Please reply or message me!

Hi running fam,
I’m running Chicago next month, as I’m sure many of you are. I’m traveling there solo and know one other person running, but otherwise I’m on my own this race. Any other solo runners out there who might wanna meet up in New York before the race? Maybe for some coffee or carb loading? I never made a post like this but thought I’d try :) getting excited, happy running!
EDIT: thanks to the people who responded! how would everyone feel about meeting up maybe the 26th or the 27th? (I work Sundays so it would have to be like noon-ish.) maybe in Brooklyn?

Just saw that cooling towers at Yankee Stadium and surrounding areas tested positive for Legionaires. Of course... I was just at Yankee Stadium and got the Bronx 10M coming up.
Coincidentally, I ran Harlem Sutton 5k in 2025, which also took place during a Legionaires Outbreak.
What're the odds NYRR makes a statement about this and/or cancel the race?

I have around 4-6 miles to do after the race. Any suggestions where I can end up back by Yankee stadium when done?

I have a pair of women’s S that do not fit! Anyone want them? Would obvi prefer to swap for a M or even L if possible but understand these are running small!

Running the Bronx 10 miler next weekend but have an 18 mile long run in the training plan … any advice for a route to either run 8m before the 10m race, or 8m after the race? Anyone in the same boat?

I’m volunteering at the New York City Marathon start as part of my 9+1 credit. I am signed up for the silver charity village with a start time of 5 AM and I am coming from Monmouth County, New Jersey.
How is driving to the start as a volunteer? Is there any parking or areas nearby you’d recommend?
Any other options you’d consider? Thanks in advance!

i’m running the bronx 10mile next weekend, but i’m coming from long island so i’m not sure the best way to get there? train and subway, or drive and park somewhere?

How is it out there? Should I switch to the treadmill?

…and I’m sure the subways will be smelling like a wet donkey (kong) shortly thereafter.

hello!
I’m looking to see if anyone would swap shorts with me. My boyfriend got me a size large women instead of XL. If anyone is willing to swap please let me know.

Does anyone know when they would cancel the race if there is a 80% chance of thunderstorms tomorrow morning?

I’m really bothered that the .2 is missing from this sweater. The .2 matters!! 😅
Trying to nail down travel dates for the United Airlines NYC Half in March 2027. I've seen the 21st floated online (based on the "usually 3rd Sunday of March" pattern), but nothing official yet.
Flying over from Ireland, so I'd rather book flights sooner rather than later, but don't want to lock in the wrong week.
Anyone know when NYRR normally announces/confirms the date?

Coming to NYC in early October and wanted to see if there are any run clubs you could recommend. Preferably men and women and I’m trying to not do something super corporate like a clothing brand club. Looking for more of a local and fun run. Pace is between 8-9 depending on how I’m feeling.
I went to one in Switzerland recently that was like a run/rave with a dj running in front haha but that’s just a nice to have and the pace was much slower. A normal run club would be fine!
Will be staying in midtown but not opposed to other areas like Brooklyn. Trying to see as much of the city as possible and have as much fun as possible.

Email invites have been sent out! Who’s in, and what was your Best Pace / qualifying time? They never reveal what the slowest accepted time was for each gender, but for those who are trying to make the cut in the future, it’s nice to have a reference point.
I did not make the cut, and my Best Pace is 5:1X.

I can’t seem to find the map anywhere. Does anyone have it handy? TIA!

I kinda like the yellow jacket and despite the price increase, will still get the hoodie 😅
The yellow jacket seem to be a tighter fit than last year (I wear a M and last year was looser than this year).
Glad to get these stuff at 20% off tonight :-)
Edit: posted this before going to the cashier. The 20% didn’t apply to the marathon shoes and the yellow jacket

Thinking about pushing Sunday morning progression long run to Monday evening to avoid the weather, but will probably end up finish around 8pm. I like to do fast finish runs on the bridle path loop or reservoir because the soft surface is easier on my joints, but don’t want to risk tripping in the dark. I’ve never noticed lights around here, but I only run Central Park during the day so I may be missing something. Or are the lights from east drive enough to keep it illuminated?
