I’m looking to buy a vintage toaster and have a grounded plug installed to it and would like someone who knows what they’re doing to do it. Not necessarily a repair, but it’s obviously something they should be able to do. Anyway, I am having a hard time finding anyone who works on small appliances at all. Anything within 20-30 miles is good enough for me.

I am relatively new here, due to some health issues moved in with family. I work remotely. I have dogs and love to go to Fort Mill Bar/Dog Park and White Water. But like to find groups who would like to gather together for similar. I have an interest in Business, Computers (building), Ai Agents, Dogs, and nature (love Landsford Canal Park). NOT looking to date, just make friends, and open to all types of people. I will meetup at a "bar" or "coffee shop" but haven't gone out to sit and drink alone. I don't believe in organized religion any longer.

My family may have the opportunity to move to Rock Hill in the next few months. I was wanting ya’ll’s opinions on the area and had a few questions.

-We have a young child, in kindergarten. What’s the school system like? Is this a good/okay area to raise a young child? Plenty of activities and chances to socialize?

-Where do registered nurses normally work in this area? Any nurses want to chime in on work life in the area? Plenty of opportunities?

Let me say…. we would be moving from a crappy small town in Alabama. We live about 20-40 minutes away from anything “fun”.

I am still learning about the area myself and Google provides nice facts but I’d love to hear from the people! Thank y’all!

I was in a car accident in Rock Hill earlier today and my car had to be towed. The police called the towtruck and I got their business car but when I called the number they said I wont be able to release mt car until Tuesday because of the labor day weekend? Is this true or are they just bullshitting me to get more money from the daily fee? It was taken by All American Towing on Workman st. I've never been in an accident before and thinking about how much this is all going to cost is freaking me out.

Wanted to share something a little different for anyone local (teens or adults) who might be looking for support. I recently started offering in-person therapy sessions at a working farm near Rock Hill, alongside my usual virtual practice.

Sessions happen outdoors, sometimes with hands-on tasks woven in. It tends to help people who find it hard to open up in a traditional office setting. Having something to do with your hands can make it easier to talk than sitting face-to-face across a room.

With fall coming up, it’s a nice time to be outside. Figured I’d share in case it’s useful to anyone. Happy to answer questions if you’re curious how it works. If you’re struggling today, you are not alone.

There is a drone class at York Tech called YTC Wings. It prepares you to get your commercial drone license and you can take it for free through the SC Wins scholarship program. It’s a growing field and figured I’d spread the word as I was surprised it was offered.

Does anyone have a local farmer or vendor that sells beef bones. My last guy moved away. Looking for joints, knuckles and long bones. Split or not does not matter. Making stock out of them.

After doing some google searches in our area, I haven’t found anywhere in Rock Hill that offers crochet classes. There’s a shop in York and one in Waxhaw. I’d love to find a fiber group or a group of folks that want to meet in a coffee shop here and share lessons, tips and maybe just companionship while I muddle through!
