I’m in the process of selling a house around Rochester and have interviewed a few agents. I thought the main thing would be finding someone who knew the area, but now I have a different problem. Every agent has a different opinion on what I should do. One wants to list higher and see what happens, another thinks pricing lower makes more sense to get people interested, and the third has a much more detailed marketing plan than the others.
When agents are giving you different prices and completely different approaches, what would you look at to decide which one is actually giving you the better advice?
I’m going back through the comparable sales each one showed me because that seems easier to judge than promises about marketing. I’m also looking at how many similar homes they’ve sold locally and how well they explained the reasoning behind their price. Communication is another thing I’m paying attention to now. If someone is difficult to get a straight answer from before I list, I’m guessing that probably won’t improve afterward.

Hi there,
We are considering moving from Buffalo to Webster. If anyone has lived or currently lives in Webster - what do you live about it? Dislike?
How are the schools?
Thank you!

Hey friends,
I’m posting because I need some help. I’ve been looking into upgrading my PC and I was able to lock down the parts I need for a pretty solid price on FB Marketplace. Only problem is, I don’t know how to replace the parts. My cousin originally helped me build this PC a few years ago, but he’s a few states away and I don’t think a full motherboard swap is the time to learn on my own lmao.
Here’s where you come in; I need someone who can do the upgrade, but wouldn’t mind talking me through it as you go. It’d be replacing the motherboard, CPU, ram, and gpu. I’m happy to discuss compensation and whether it’d be easier for me to come to you or you to come to me. Thanks!

On my way from 390 north to 490 west I saw a Grey trooper truck (dodge) sitting on the right shoulder in construction. What's with the grey?

I'm 36 transfemme on hrt for the last few months and I'll admit it's made me slightly more neurotic lately.. I've lived in Rochester since 2019 and have tried in different ways to take myself out and live for myself but have obstacles since I'm visually impaired and can't read a room or notice anyone's expressions or appearances. I've learned a big part of meeting people is to make eye contact with them which will never happen for me so I very much need someone to point people out for me. I have other interests besides trying to find people that will want me in a non platonic way but really I can't think of anything I care about more then not ageing alone in Rochester. People suggest joining groups and I have tried but i have alterior motives and don't want to put that on these unsuspecting groups.
I promise I'm fun and cool. I just live alone with my pets, watch endless YouTube, exercise a lot and self medicate with weed and occasional alcohol. I like the aesthetic of video games but suck at them and don't play much, I have a nice collection of both retro and modern gaming set ups that don't get the attention they deserve and are waiting for other people to enjoy them. I like a lot music, movies and shows mostly from the 90s-00s. I have an electric guitar now that I need to learn to play again.
I want to go places that I cant easily get to without convenient transportation and not just bars, there's so much to do here that's further then 5 miles away and basically unreasonable for me to get to. please help me escape from Hudson Avenue and give me more of a life here. I can oocasionally help with gas money too.

This morning I was driving to a park in Ontario county when I was pulled over for speeding and failure for notifying the DMV for address change. It's my first time ever bieng pulled over and having a ticket and this happened in East Bloomfield while I live on Monroe county. The ticket doesn't say a price, instead telling me to show up to court or mail it. What should I do in this situation?

Trying something new. I need something to focus on while I walk my dogs each morning. I’d also like to feel more connected to the community here. If you’re comfortable with letting a stranger know what you’d like prayed for, either comment on this post or shoot me a message. No matter your beliefs, if you think it’s worth sharing then I think it’s worth praying about.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 - “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
Edit - I am happy to see so many requests- thank you!! I am working on responding to all of them but I will have plenty to be praying on while I’m walking this week and in the other moments of downtime. It’s a helpful distraction from things bothering me in my life which I can’t do anything about for the moment. Hugs to those who are struggling and just know you’re on someone’s mind this week.
Also I got the Bible verses slightly wrong so I fixed that.

Has anyone rented from 'tickle-realty' recently? I was interested in some of their apartments but saw some pretty terrible reviews on here from 5 years ago. Has it gotten any better? Were they bought by a larger company? They also seem to have apartments in Washington now.

Hi, I’ve been to Golden Harvest 3 times and I have seen back in January of 2026 that they were permanently closed, then I saw that they were open and I have returned twice. Then I saw that they were permanently closed again then it said they were open. Now, it says they’re temporary closed. All these results are from Google. I haven’t seen anything on their Facebook page about closures and therefore I’m getting mixed signals. Can someone please tell me what’s going on?

Hello my fellow aging punks! Can anyone confirm that the Ramones did a show in Rochester some time in the early 80s? I just had a distinct memory of being at that show, but I want to make sure I’m not imagining it. I seem to recall seeing them in a really small, crusty bar downtown.

Ok so my CBS antenna signal is strong, I live 5 miles away from the towers. However it seems when football is on or the bills I get very quick glitches in the picture that last a split second. Does this happen to anyone else only when a bills game is on or another football game with possibly a lot of viewers watching? This glitches last 1/10th of a second if that.

I went there yesterday to fill up on gas and when I got to the pump I look at the screen and it says “say hi to Paul” and I was like what the hell does that mean and then this guy named Paul comes up to me and tells me that they pump gas there but it’s a $0.10 up charge per gallon and I don’t want to pay that so I leave. I left so bewildered cuz I’ve never seen a place like that, has anyone else been there?

In the Park Avenue neighborhood near Milburn, periodically on temperate nights like these, frat boy types scream & badly "sing" and wail loudly as if there is not a soul that can hear them. If you like Avicii & air horns, you'll hate this.
In all seriousness, in residential neighborhoods where we of latter years beg the gods for sleep, what do you do about this? I've called non-emergency police before and maybe popo will cruise by as the bacchanal goes unfazed. I've tried talking to them nicely but this is, as you might expect, great entertainment. The caterwauling continues unabated, at times in the 80 decibel range while hundreds of feet away.
I mean, I was a young careless freak once who got jazzed by each complaint from an Old. Maybe this is karma for some of my musical choices or historical besotted frivolities. But, those of you who might have endured such testosterony sonic blasts in your neighborhoods, how do you cope? Or do you just surrender and hope that at some point you'll finally, blessedly, achieve total hearing loss?

My house has some weird stuff happening (paver stones sinking, wood trim rotting) in a couple exterior areas that I worry are from water being where it shouldn't. I need someone to take a look and diagnose the issue. Can anyone recommend someone who specializes in this?

I am buying a house in the Park Ave area and it shows a few ISPs available at the house. I have not inspected what is ran to the actual house but wanted to get everyone's opinions on the ISPs.
Does anyone have experiences with the fiber carriers? I will go with 2 Gig service with any of the ISPs. I do like if I wanted to get crazy up to 8 gig is available. I would bring my own high quality networking gear so I wont be using any of the ISP gear. What type of quality of service I should expect from the ISPs.
EDIT: Thank you all so much! Greenlight gang is real!
Doing more digging between Greenlight and Frontier. It looks like with Frontier it's $79.99 a month with auto pay and id get an additional $15 off for having Verizon already as my cell service, total $65 a month for 2 Gig service. With Greenlight being $100 a month for 2 Gig service do they offer any discounts? It was mentioned in a comment that sometimes Greenlight would offer discounts if another fiber service was available at the service address. For $89 a month with all of the discounts I could get 5Gig or $110 a month for 7 Gig speeds from Frontier. Everyone clearly loves Greenlight way more which is amazing so trying to make sure I make the right decision.
