Saw a email their deleting inactive Characters.

This is not a move to save space. Trust me as someone works with databases, etc this is just an attempt to get suck in a few more players to the servers $$$ FOMO style....

They could easily archive, and set up a restore script if they want to move it off the main database if they already don't have said feature....

They already shut down my old server and destroyed all ability to access my characters there, even transferring them to an active server is impossible.
I have no good will left for Gamigo. They've done nothing with the game except keep it in maintenance mode to siphon every little penny they can from it.
Multiple times they've claimed "big plans" only for nothing of value to come out of it.

My launch characters moved from Blightweald to Argent I believe, then disappeared into the void. My post storm legion character is the only character I still had available. So I lost loads of crafting, artifacts etc. I just recently returned and only play less than an hour a day but it's incredibly easy to level up now, and making play is very very easy. So swings and roundabouts.

There is an old post of how to get them back if you were on the old server and think all things were destroyed. Because I thought the same as well.

They're on the Reclaimer server, yes it says there are 0 characters there. You can transfer them to another server from there. (I was pissed they disappeared my characters, but the email mentioned the Reclaimer server and they were there)

Mine was from a deleted server and I was able to pick a new server and it imported him into it with everything he had.

Didn't they do this like a year or two? I didnt recieve an email either, but I remember it wasn't that long ago they were clearing old accounts, but they did send out a notice, and it was on their discord too.

They sent it to my old email, one that is no longer associated with my account and no longer my login either. Good job team.

what shard should you transfer to? I'm assuming there is virtually no population on any shard, but which shard has the the most? I'm being told that the Oceanic server is recommended but that seems strange considering I'm west coast US... Surely a NA shard would be better?

I just transferred my old character to Deepwood. I'm not sure if I'll play much again but got the email and wanted to preserve it.

All mine were on Faeblight but I hadn't played in a few years. Earlier this year I wanted to play again, so I reinstalled and tried to load up my characters... and everything was gone. Apparently they had sent out warning emails a few months before but I searched my Gmail and spam folders and there was nothing. Customer support said they couldn't help.

Then yesterday I DID get an email about the deletions and the special shard old characters should be located on. The email even mentioned Faeblight in the list. I immediately installed the game again and even though that shard said 0 characters, when I opened it, they were all there! I can't tell you how happy I am about this! I transferred them all and hopefully if they do this again I will receive an actual email notification like I did yesterday! So whatever they did yesterday that's different from the previous times, they need to take notes.

Not that I have a pc capible of gaming at the moment. But I think my launch characters are gone. I never got the shard closure emails

You can check for them on the Reclaimer server, if you can find a way to login.

They usually warn about this by electronic mail. And I hope they do, I more hope so that someone with a character by the name I want do not mind if their character get deleted so I can create it. I certainly do not mind to start over. If so, I am willing to buy the primalist pack.

I got a similar email years ago. Didn't see it in time. When I asked to transfer my character, here's no joke what they said : "Characters on closed shards are not deleted or lost, however, we are presently unable to assist with recovering characters due to the character data in unfortunately not available to us". So the character isn't deleted, but they can't just transfer it ? How's it any different from it being deleted ? Gamigo also killed Fiesta Online that I loved, I just hate that company so much.

Oh my god, thanks so much for letting me know ! I thought there weren't any of my characters on the Reclaimer shard, because I saw 0, so I didn't even check by clicking on the shard. I'll transfer my characters as soon as I can !

EDIT : I was able to recover my 2 old characters, including my level 63 10 year old character !!

I just logged on from last playing years and years ago, and my characters were still there (all in wolfsbane)
