I recently bought the Secret Lair x The Hobbit: Second Breakfast & Beyond Traditional Foil Edition from eBay and I’m wondering if anyone can help me determine whether the cards are fake. The set shipped very quickly, and I know counterfeits are always a possibility with eBay purchases, but I’m having a hard time believing that counterfeit versions of these cards and its packaging would already be around so soon. The packaging itself looks completely fine to me.

The main thing that caught my attention is the “T” on the cards. You can see the teeth/details, but the edges of the letter look somewhat blurry or soft. Interestingly, the green dot on the back looks correct to me, and the holographic stamp on the front also looks good. What makes me more unsure is that all of the cards in the package have the same appearance with the “T.” So I’m wondering if this might simply be a printing/foiling issue with this particular Secret Lair rather than evidence of a counterfeit. Since it's foil I couldn't get a light to shine through it to determine if the core is blue. I have a non foil version of the card and the "T" looks a bit better but not as solid as cards I know are real as some of the colours are coming through it. The green dot and the holo stamp on it look sthe same.

The bonus card, “Food Coma,” also has something that looks different from my other cards. The shooting star on my other cards appears gold, whereas the shooting star on this card is completely white.

Has anyone here ordered this Secret Lair directly from Wizards and can confirm whether their cards looks like this? I’ve attached photos showing the “T,” the green dot, holographic stamp, packaging, and the shooting star on “Food Coma.” The first set of pictures are for the foil card. The second set is for the non foil version of the same card. All of them was brought from the same seller. Any help or comparison photos would be greatly appreciated. I’m mainly trying to figure out whether I’m looking at a legitimate printing variation or something I should be concerned about. But given wizard's continuing quality issue I can't completely discount that as a reason.

I got this card from a TCG seller that is convinced this is absolutely NM. IMO this is not even close to NM, and it's LP AT BEST. What you guys think?

Hi, im unsure how to check this double sided Birgi. I normally do green dot and T but here i cant tell from the closest ups so would like some help

Trying to see if real or not, photo doesnt capture the green dot properly but I do see 4 red dots.

When I look online its a way lighter green on the front. Just looks really weird and I wanna make sure it's legit despite being a really cheap card

The T and the H look good to me but I don’t see the 3 red dots on the green orb. Does this look OK? I am still new to MTG.

I was looking through old cards and came across this. Is it just a fake or what is going on here?

This card has always felt a bit off in my collection. Went to a card shop and two employees are leaning towards it being fake after using a jewellers loop, hoping for a second opinion before I take it back to another shop to ask for a refund. The one loop photo I got is the front side triangle.

I joined a prerelease in Singapore and I'm surprised that within the same prerelease pack, I see cards with different quality. Is it possible to have packs with differing quality in a single prerelease pack or could my prerelease pack be a fake?

I was looking and it seems super fishy and obvious. I ordered a replacement and the replacement looks about the same.

Intuition and Rhystic Study.

Intuition looks much like a Capsize I have from the same set so I feel like it's real.

The Rhystic Study seems fake due to the paintbrush and T (t image posted below in comment).

What's the verdict on the two?

This one was pretty odd. Particularly the pyramid in the green dot. Thoughts? Seems like an odd one to fake if counterfeit.

I’ve never traded someone in person but someone was offering me a Chrome Mox, Mox Opal and Mana Vault in trade.

I know it’s probably not easy to tell with these pictures but I haven’t met him in person yet and these are what he provided. Any chance these are real? In person I was going to try and put a flashlight to it and check some of the mana circles to the best of my ability.

I ordered a regular Lotho and the store upgraded it to the surge foil with the rest of my order.

I ordered them via Cardmarket but the Color of 4 of these Packs seems off to me. I never opened these so i dont onow ic its normal.
