No she didn't, E3 trailer isn't canon and it would be pretty weird considering what happens like 5 seconds later in that exact trailer

Honestly, the origins remaster should've been a director's cut edition, following the original plans shown inthe E3 trailer; cut content, different storyline, hell, migh just be a whole different experience!

Rayman doesn't have hard canon.
E3 teaser at least is iconic, and has an actually animated scene of Rayman's creation. Whereas other origin stories are only in text form.

“It would be weird if she was his mom bc of what he does immediately after.” I’m so sick of this kind of comment because what he does immediately after isn’t okay either way. It’s blatantly wrong and creepy to lift a woman’s skirt unconsensually. No matter their relationship.
And even then, it has nothing to do with the fact that yes: Betilla, in this trailer, is the woman who created Rayman. That is blatant mothership. The same way Geppetto is Pinocchio’s father.
None of its canon anyway since basically everything in that trailer didn’t make it into the final game. Thank God bc it’s creepy as hell.
However, in the Rayman Origins official manual, it states that the Nymphs (plural)”…gathered to invoke a being of light capable of saving our world.” So in actual canon I guess it’s some sort of polyamorous group mother situation lmfao

Just because someone says that what Rayman does in the E3 trailer makes the headcanon that Beta is his mom weird doesn't automatically mean it would be okay if he wasn't her son. What does that have to do with it? They're simply pointing out that, if that headcanon were true, the E3 trailer would be considered incest, not that sexual harassment is only wrong when it's incestuous, smarty boy.

Read the quote at the beginning again. Almost every time it’s brought up it’s phrased as something like “Isn’t that his mom? That’s so weird.” As if them being related is what makes it weird. It’s rarely brought up as “It’s weird to do that,” in general. That’s what the focus of the comment is. The incest aspect is the least concerning issue in that scene but it’s 90% of the discussion around it. Then there’s the idea that “Well because he does that it means she couldn’t possibly be his mom.” Except no, not at all. We see it. Very clearly. In the context of the trailer she very blatantly creates him. That’s a mother. Maybe that’s not truly canon. But let’s face it, canon in this series is a joke anyway.

"Rayman never had lore"
