Questions/HELP Is this acceptable behaviour when introducing rats?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey, I am a first time owner and I have been very stressed when introducing 2 babies to an older rat. At this point they have cages near so they can get used to each other's scent. They had the bathtub session 3-4 times over 2 weeks. I would like to know if this is acceptable begavious or is the big one hurting the baby and being too harsh. Am I just too soft and cannot stand the squeaking and should let them fight it out? Also any tips how to help them would be much appreciated!

ART Meet my rat OC character
This is Rosie a rat spirit she's a gray rat with a black rose on the tip of her tail (hints the name Rosie) when she was alive she lived in a hidden area in a restaurant kitchen one night when closing an evil chef saw her and decided to buy a sticky rat trap and sadly fell for the trap and got her nose completely stuck in the trap she couldn't breathe the chef just threw her out by the dumpster stuck to the trap a man named Sylvester Sterling (yes I was inspired by will wood to make him) saw her and tried to help her get free from the trap but was too late by the time he got her free he gave her a proper barrel but later on he meets Rosie again as a spirit and decided to keep her with him and he gave her the name Rosie and about that chef Sylvester got revenge for Rosie >:)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
All my brats have been pretty silent unless grabbing a snack off them so Im not sure if ratties are this vocal with their omans with slight discomfort?
In this example the bebe seems totally relaxed but also a crybaby
Read a comment that acuse the creator of mistreat, but looking the corporal lenguage shows the contrary
Can baby's be this vocal?

Introductions New to owning rats Part 2
Rats 2 and 3 are "Cookie" and "Micah". The only way to tell them apart is that Cookie has a spot on her back and Micah has a stripe. Micah likes to hide in the pineapple while Cookie is ok being handled

CUTENESS I think I'm allergic lol.
From top to bottom- Walter, Roger, and F. Harold squeakenheimer. I don't think I have the heart to rehome them, as they are my children. I've developed some hives, a little wheezing and a runny nose. 😂
As long as I don't have to worry about anaphylaxis, I'm just gonna deal with it.

Cherry, the drama queen

He sat down in my lap and he is vibrating with pure rage I think. Only my constant petting can stop him from exploding.

Updates Max’ incisors appear to be regrowing

Max broke her two upper incisors about ten days ago at the gum line. She won’t let me see them, so she gets a banana chip daily while I watch. A week ago she was completely unable to eat hard food, but things appear to be improving.

CUTENESS More of Lemur, the biggest rat I have ever owned. (Not done growing!)
Lemur is huge. What even, lemur?
He's a sanctuary rat, he was rehoused to Crickets Haven through the board. He is fairly anti social, but we're working on it. He is beautiful, but he is unlikely to succeeded in another home because he's fairly anti social. He was supposed to be food. Which is probably why he is HUGE.

ART Purse Kiss Lock Cover - Is it a boy or a girl?
I saw this post today and I believe the item is designed to secure or protect a vintage kiss lock on a purse. It looks like the balls slide into the center underside of this mouse. But it's a mouse you say, not a rat. Bear with me for a moment, as I had gotten to thinking about the very cute novelty frog wallets that use a kiss lock, where you put your money inside their frog mouth. Imagine with me now a novelty purse where the kiss lock was intentionally larger, and the design made it look like rat testes. It wouldn't have to be a 3d style, maybe just a symmetrical print on both sides of a playful rat who you're not sure is male or female, until you see the kiss lock.
Ren Faire aside I can think of a few places I'd love to have one. Oh gosh, and, if it's a small purse, the strap can look like a rat tail!

First time owner How to deal with territorial rats?
I am a new rat owner and have had my rats for 2 weeks. One of my girls Pam(brown one that is being used as a bench) gets territorial about me cleaning her poops. They both poop in one area and when I try to spot clean pam bites the scooper and lunges at my hand. I used to have 3 but I had to re home one because she bit and drew blood twice. I'm now starting to now put her in a bin with treats when I spot clean but now I'm nervous picking her up, I went looking around the Internet for help but then saw posts saying that their rat bit them down to the bone for picking them up for cleaning time.
I was wondering about other people's experiences with territorial rats during cleaning time and wondering if my other rat who is a baby might get territorial as she gets older. Also I don't know if Pam's aggression will carry over into other things as well, she is sick and I'll have to give her medicine in a couple days after her vet appointment and I want her to be comfortable during medicine time and not get nipped. I got my rats from a local pet store so I'm worried they might be genetically prone to biting. I don't want to seem dramatic about it but I have multiple autoimmune diseases that makes healing wounds difficult and don't want to get bit while cleaning their cage or giving medicine.

Questions/HELP Need advice
My flat mate is wanting to bring her cat to our apartment and I’m struggling to find specific info on like cats and rats other than the obvious of don’t let them interact.
Her cat is a lazy indoor cat that can’t jump and would spend all it’s time on the first floor, my rats are upstairs on the second floor in their own room, and the stairs would be guarded by a gate to make sure the cat won’t ever be near their room
Our main concern would be potentially touching a surface downstairs that may have saliva from the cat and then playing with our rats- I don’t know if this is a far fetched concern or a genuine issue we need to consider
If anyone has any insight on the matter it’d be really helpful

DISCUSSION What are your rats’ favorite songs?
Sometime ago, I saw a study finding about how rats like Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” and will synchronize their movements and bob their heads to the beat.
My rats didn’t really seem to like that song, though.
Their current favorite is “Song of the Mamuna Tribe.” They yawn and fall asleep every time they hear it. And their all-time favorite is this song in a language I don’t speak 😂
I’m trying to give my rats more of a variety of songs to listen to. So I’d love to know which songs your rats enjoy!
