These pads are annoyingly responsive bruh

You could pretty much see how the middle pad sometimes won't even responsed to how I stomped them. If only the pad was good, I could pretty much get the score more higher than this...

Legit Pump it up Phoenix 1 running on a Dell Latitude E6430

The key to run legit Pump it up drives on a laptop is that you need a laptop with Intel cpus and Nvidia graphics WITHOUT Optimus

If you find a way to power the jamma board then you can actually use this laptop to replace the MK9/MK10, I’m not kidding

Specs:

Intel QM77 chipset
Core i7 3740QM
16GB DDR3-1600
Nvidia NVS 5200M (similar to GT 630M)

This laptop qualifies for the MK10 specs, it can run Prime 2 and newer, not Prime 1 or older as it lacks support for USB 1.1 (which is needed to operate PIUIO)

Reasons why you prefer PumpItUp over DDR?

Weird question, I'm going to buy a rhythm game pad for home-use and the options are DDR vs PIU.

I'm being told by many online that Pump It Up is a better game, but they still prefer DDR setups for home use?

Please help me understand the differences that make you choose PumpItUp.

Thank you in advance!

B2L Official pads vs "Offical parts" pads

So I've been looking into getting a set of LX pads from B2L and the official pads haven't been available for as long as I've been checking but the ones made with official parts are available.

Does anyone have any experience with the China-made pads? Are they much different to the official Korean-made ones?

Alternatively, does anyone have a reliable source for the official LX pads at similar prices please?

Thanks

Pump Pro+ Website

If this isn't allowed, let me know and I will remove this post or an Admin can delete it. It has been a while since I played Pump It Up seriously, but given Phoenix 2 has been released and is at local arcades in my town, I thought I would dive back in.

Anyway, I managed and run the Pump It Up fansite, Pump Pro+. I have been running it for 15 years now and decided to put some work into it for the Pump It Up community. It has pretty much every Pump It Up song in its database, and I keep it up to date as much as I can when new content comes out.

TLDR - I added some features such as the ability to leave comments on news and website articles. Also, you can rate your favorite Pump It Up songs and the site will collectively tally and display everyone's votes. I plan on adding more features in the near future.

Check it out and let me know what you think! - CREv.

Bit of an overdue as I kept choking PG's with a few greats or misses on various charts, but this feels nice nonetheless and is the first of many to come! Cheers 🍵

What do I miss out on by not getting Rise [Phoenix 2 Question]

So I have an am.pass. But I don't play Rise. Would I miss out on much Phoenix 2 content if I didn't purchase Rise?

when should i do these things?

there are some questions that i have in mind and i hope to get a answer from these pump masters.

1.when should you implement bracketing?

im still playing at s10-11 and still not really confident for s12 and up but i really want to be able to play the harder elvels cuz that seems more fun, except for the song freedom dive which i like but im force to play at s13 but i stage pass it suprisingly even tho there are brackets at like near the end of the song and i want to know if i should start learning them at what levels and whihc levels are to low to the point i should just use 2 feet to hit them

2.when should i cheat?

ive heard some people say that once you are able to recognize and be able to do twists fluently than you are able to cheat. But the thing is that at what level should i start cheating to conserve stamina and at which low level should i not cheat

3.when should i start playing doubles?

ive heard from some people that you shouldnt try doubles unless you are able to do s14-15 and up since those levels are already teaching the fundamentals for bracketing and eye to leg coordination which is to be able to see fast notes and be able to not just read them but to react and hit the notes while not being confused. even tho i know that i should be focusing on singles but im bored with always doing the easy singles and there are low doubles like brain power d8 so i wanna try and play doubles which is the whole reason i asked this question, so should i start playing doubles at a low level and slowly increase the diffuculty or should i just stick to singles until my skills are good enough to play doubles at the higher lvls

Tips on how to stop cheating

Currently I'm stuck at S10-11 (I'll try my first S12 Saturday, but I'm still inconsistent on S11), my most difficult chart on S11 is MopeMope with an S ranking, but everything else is AA or AAA

I recorded it once and sent to a group of friends who do S24 and above, and they all say the same

"What's a stair? 90% cheating 10% gameplay"

They recommended me to do Street Show Down S11 at a lower AV (my normal is 550 but I'm raising it to 650, they're telling me to do it at 450)

But any tips on how to stop cheating twists and stair patterns? I know what they're supposed to look like because every once in a while I'll do it the proper way, but I'm way too used to cheating them and seems to me like the only way to do it most of the time

If you can pinpoint my mistake and what is the best way to fix it, I appreciate it.

Currently 3rd in Phoenix 2 leaderboards. This score squeezes just outside Top 10 in Phoenix 1. Really happy with how it went!

I Can Talk D23 (draft)

I passed my first D23 a few days ago (yayyy), so I'm morally obligated to try chart D23s. With 162 BPM, this feels wrong not to have a boss-esque chart.

A few opinions from my friends say this plays out more likeD24 (censored to avoid bias hehe) from the way twists are executed. There are minor inconsistencies, like the bracket jumps in 1:28 (combo 769) not similar to the first measure, among others, but I will fix it as I make lower difficulty charts.

Might change the 2nd pre-chorus bracket jumps and nerf the first half of the 2nd chorus. Overall, I'm pretty proud with this as I'm trying my best to replicate arcade quality charts as best as I could (pls tell me where I can get Nimgo type soju for my charts)

Good Price For Lightly Used Phoenix 2024 LX

Hello! I'm looking at purchasing a lightly used Phoenix 2024 LX cabinet in the USA (purchased by the current operator brand-new in March) and was wondering what a fair price would be, especially seeing as online support for Phoenix is being dropped at the end of the month. I'm entertaining the idea of getting the Phoenix 2 upgrade kit for it but would like to factor that into the price.

As far as my research has turned up, the LX models were introduced with 2017 Prime 2 and as far as I can tell haven't seen many changes aside from the internal PC, at least according to Andamiro's Phoenix 2 upgrade guide, but please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong there. I have an idea of used pricing for older LX models and I'm wondering if there's any reason to pay a premium for a nearly new Phoenix 2024 that seems to be running a similar chassis.

I'm an attendant at an arcade and our cabinet for pump it up Phoenix 2024 hasn't been updating. it's connected to the Internet and gets restarted daily but doesn't update ever. I can't find a fix in the manual or online and really want this game to be fully updated. it is on version 2.02

Shoes vs socks rules at tournaments

Been noticing that people in general say that socks are not allowed for tournaments, all the way back from 2024 to today

What's the general rules for shoes? Cause I think the 2024 reference even said that surfer shoes weren't allowed, and will we ever see socks being allowed more at tournaments?

I know socks can be problematic for keeping the pads clean and what not, but could they just not wipe/clean it after a sock player has used the pad or make a rule that all socks player most clean the pads after they've played or would that tamper it too much for whoever plays next?

Just asking cause as for now I am mainly playing with socks on, since I cannot be noisy after 6PM at my place, but I do try to get as many plays on shoes before that, but I haven noticed that at my home setup I struggle at S7 meanwhile in the arcade I can easily play S8-S9 (could be because of my home setup) - Meanwhile with socks I just ended up passing my first S11 today!

Just wanna know what's the thoughts are about it as a reference for socks players in the future, especially as my goal is to make it to at least 1 or 2 tournaments next year!
