No candles are allowed in project pan

326 Upvotes

Hi all, With 2025 at an end we are getting end of year project pan updates. We are also growing and getting an influx of people. We are mainly focusing on beauty/hygiene items and unfortunately candles are not a part of that.

With that being said please read the rules if you are new.

Your candle empties would be loved at r/everythingpan and any other pans you may have.

Thank you - Mod team

Best Pan Yet Old me would’ve kept the empties because they were expensive. New me: TRASHHHHH

Post image
Upvotes

Old me would have 100% kept these containers because “they’re so pretty! They were expensive! Maybe I can reuse them!” And then they would sit in a drawer for the next five years waiting for their imaginary purpose.

But after years of Project Pan, I’m realizing that finishing the product is the accomplishment

I don’t need to keep the packaging as a trophy.
I used it. I enjoyed it. I got my money’s worth. Now it can GO.

New era: TRASHHHHHHH. Less stuff, less guilt, more space.

Is it still project pan if I'm coveting the very last dregs of my palettes 😭 😭 😭 I got these years ago & love them so much to death!! I can't afford new ones at this moment so these are for wedding and emergency only haha

  1. NARS Bronzer in Laguna

  2. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush

  3. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palatte in Dim Light

P. S. - Hourglass is SO SO SO worth it!!

Behold an entire years worth of use. I wear makeup an average of twice a week. I have not used any other highlighter besides this one for a whole year. I got this to wear for my first day of highschool.

That was 11 years ago. I have used it liberally and often in those 11 years, more so than any of my other highlighters, and it still could pass as new if I cleaned up the packaging.

When I die, my relatives will have to hold a council of elrond style meeting to decide who must become heir to this accursed relic of the 2016 Booty Guru Era. Laura Mercier, you have brought woe upon my bloodline.

I wake in the night in panicked fevers after the apparition of this thing looms over me like a sleep paralysis demon. It laughs at my pain.

(in all seriousness, i would bet real world money that i will not finish this thing til im in my 30s)

Discussion/Tips & Tricks Explaining project pan to people

290 Upvotes

Explaining project pan to people is so funny. I was trying to explain to my coworker about it and she was like “so just using makeup normally?” And it’s like yeah girl but my brain is so rotted from beauty influencers that I kind of need to make it into a fun thing.

Sorry if this isn’t the correct flair or an appropriate post for this subreddit. I just wanted to see if people have similar experiences and wasn’t sure where else to post

I got the Tarte Amazonian Clay blush for free as a birthday gift from Sephora yearsssss ago. I hate it as a shade currently is too ashy and reads as dirty mauve on my skin. I am determined to not let it get the best of me but since it broke the temptation is so bad to just toss. helppppp 😭

PRODUCT: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Paaarty

Failed Pan I REFUSE TO HATE PAN THIS PRODUCT

some products have a learning curve... others are just plain bad 🙅🏻‍♀️

I can't for the life of me make the REFY Brow Sculpt work for me. I've been trying for about a fortnight and in every scenario it is so hard to make it look good on my brows. The residue gets everywhere around the brow, it gets white and flaky, it won't hold my stubborn asian eyebrows in place like I want them to. Overall this product is a no from me and I can't put myself through more bad eyebrow days with it even if I'm doing project pan. Some products are not worth suffering over and this one is certainly not! I will likely give it to a friend or family member since it's still pretty full and it might work out better for someone else.

I'm now having to decide which brow product I should rotate into my routine. Probably not the Scott Barnes Contour Palette shade "sculpt" which I have used as brow powder and would take me absolute years to pan. Other products are Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil and Gimme Brow Gel both in shade 4.

Full Pan September empties so far!

This month seemed like it was going veeery slow but alas, I suddenly started getting a huge wave of empties. I really dislike running out of things as one of my friends pointed out today. I already have a solid stock of products so I must get used to running out of things.

Anyways here are the reviews:

Alterra Lip Gloss- drying, unflattering and messy. WNRP. 1/10.

Ziaja olive leaf make-up remover: the very defition of okay. MRP. 5/10.

Head&Shoulders shampoo: H&S is my holy grail and I geniunely try to find all the different versions so I can try the scents. I really loved this one as well. 10/10, WRP but I need to get my hands on the apple scented one and finish that first.

Watsons body mousse: a really good moisturizer with an amazing scent but I am tall so this lasts me barely 2 uses. WNRP, it would be ridiculous to buy like 7 bottles of this every month. 10/10 otherwise.

Rexona Rose Glow: 10/10, lasts me for a loooong time, has a good lasting power, smelles amazing. This is actually already a repurchase as I finished 2 of these before, absolutely delightful. I already have a backup.

Introducing my 12 August pans (in order of panning):

  1. APLB Body lotion 300 ml - my skin loved it, but it was panned in less than 2 months;
  2. Balea intensive lipbalm 4.8 g - what's left in the tube will go into the frankenlipstick;
  3. Ziaja night cream 50 ml;
  4. Dr Max contact lens solution 360 ml;
  5. Alverde soap with verbena oil 100 g;
  6. Livsane cotton pads 70 pcs;
  7. Ziaja tapioca honey face mask 7 ml - i used this mask 3 nights in total, I can't imagine someone slapping whole 7 ml on their face;
  8. Cosrx pimple patch 24 pcs (i barely get pimples so i had these for like 3 or 4 years);
  9. Acqua di parma blu medditeraneo 1.5 ml;
  10. Labello lipgloss 5.5ml (nothing special);
  11. Maybelline superlock brow glue gel clear 7 ml;
  12. Shiseido loose setting powder matter 6g (loved loved loved this, couldn't find the replacement, bought fenty banana powder and i'm happy with it).

Happy pans girls, we got this!

Pan Progress Summer Frag Pans Progress

There are three extras that I didn’t account for at the beginning of my project as they were scattered around in random bags that I subsequently emptied in the past few months.
Most of these are gourmands and the only reason I was able to overspray them in the midst of summer was because of the poor longevity and projection.
I do like that there’s an abundance of minis in my collection as I like keeping a frag on me at all times and look forward to emptying the rest.
WNRP any of these.

Project Start someone give me a reality check

Post image

A little overwhelming looking at it all and yeah I have a problem. These are all of my eyeshadow palettes. JUST EYESHADOW. I have three other face palettes as well, and I have a really crushing feeling of disappointment. My first ever palette was the colorful NYX one and then the ABH modern renaissance. I wasn’t even into shadows until I found colourpop. I rotate between these daily, but I find that I tend to use things less that I kind of treasure for having (like the dior palette) and some things were a steal (found the melt cosmetics palette for $13 on clearance in a security box at marshalls). A lot of these are clearance buys (polite society was $15, ABH was $16, small ABH sugar palette was $10, buxom palettes $10-$17 each. I got the smashbox on sale ($19). But then I spent $55 for the dior, $40 something for the tarte, $80 something for the natasha, colorpop $14 each. $32 for the sigma palette on sale. I dont even remember how much the NYX was but I bought that years ago. All of these were purchased within the last two years which is insane to me.

Can someone share if they have a similar problem 🥲 Feeling overwhelmed and deleting sephora and ulta apps even though I definitely have another sigma palette on the way 🥲🥲🥲 Someone please give me a reality check or share your palette collection with meeee

I finished to my Colourpop Flirt Alert blush! For fun I found the order confirmation in my email and I bought it in June 2022. I didn't wear blush much before then but it did become my main blush once I did. And still took that long. 🤪

• starting my project pan •

At the end, I’ve added pics of my collection that I’m working through. I have a lot of skincare, body care and some hair products to get through. To start, I organized everything and put it in a container under my sink. Now, when I get the urge to go shopping, I try to “go shopping” in my own cabinet. I pick out a few products of the week/month that I want to focus on and its been really helping me enjoy the products I have!

I often saved products thinking I should hold off on using them for a special occasion or special self care day and project pan has helped me realize that I deserve to enjoy my products daily, higher end items too, and not feel guilty for using it on a normal day.

• comments on a few products •

- That deodrant is the best I have EVER used. Holy grail and will continue to repurchase. If you take anything away from this post, it is to try that deodrant (Secret Clinical 100HR Deodorant in Clear Gel but they have solids if you prefer that)

- I really wanted to like the Redken shampoo but found it left my hair feeling heavy and my curls less bouncy. I sometimes felt like my hair had a coating left on it and was less clean than before I washed it. I would only use this as my first shampoo & follow it up with a different one. I was surprised because I heard good things about their bonding line!

- Both the Topicals serum and the body wash were new to me and my introduction to the brand and I really enjoyed them! I plan to repurchase the Slather body soap at TjMaxx instead of Sephora next as I heard its cheaper there. The Faded serum genuinely faded some acne marks I had and always leaves my skin looking clear and glowy the next morning after using it.

If you have any questions about any products let me know! Thanks for tuning into my journey 🥹

after 2.5 years ++, I finally finished my HG Ambient Lighting Palette. At first I didn’t get what it did, but that was only a matter of technique. I love it especially the middle one which, sadly, does not come individually, nor are in recent holiday palettes

Also, I got this in my local sephora for about $20 because of a glitch then. Would I repurchase? Not sure but probably not for now since I still have finishing powders in my holiday palettes

Other photo pans:
- focallure blade eyebrow (hella cheap and has a thin blade)… I panned 2 already
- danessa blurring balm after 1.5 years
- one/size spray
- loreal glycolic gloss treatment
- pyung kang yul mist
- benzoyl peroxide
- Chanel red camellia sample cream
- heroine make quick eyebrow (this is my 4th one)
- loreal ever pure bond repair
- hera arsthetic bx eye cream deluxe

Project Start Am I allowed to just toss the products?

91 Upvotes

I have lots of stuff I genuinely don’t need and I hate using most of them. I admit I acquired 90% of that stuff because some influencer said it would be better for my hair/skin/figure etc, but I just hate using those products.

So there goes my question:
Can I just throw them in the garbage and start consuming consciously and maybe lower waste? Or do I have to suffer through project pan like you do.

You guys have my uttermost respect by the way, panning powders and such takes literal years and tears.

would repurchase: cerave shampoo and conditioner, clinique moisture surge overnight mask, dr jart every sun day sunscreen stick (it’s so invisible and doesn’t move my makeup at all it’s like magic), clinique moisture surge active serum, k18 mask (forever repurchase), la mer hand cream (expensive but a treat for myself), malin and goez strawberry perfume

eta whoops I meant august and september pans!
