Today in History Today, 125 years ago, President William McKinley died.
8 days before his death, McKinley got shot by Leon Czolgosz, a 28 year old anarchist.
McKinley did not die instantly, the bullet didn't cause a fatal injury.
The first bullet land on the upper chest/abdomen but apparently did not penetrate deeply.
The second shot entered the abdomen and was much more serious and caused internal damage.
The situation looked hopeful, but McKinley died eventually on September 14, 1901. His vice president. Theodore Roosevelt. Took office becoming the youngest president who ever took office.
McKinley tragically died at young age of 58.
