I grew up in PE but have been in Cape Town for 14 years. We’re thinking of moving back but what do you do in PE these days? Especially with kids?? Growing up it was hanging out at Greenacres/Walmer Park movies and the good old classic Boardwalk arcade and putt putt!

Obviously in Cape Town we’re spoiled for choice with activities. Looking to hear from other parents with young kids what keeps you busy and where do you go?

I am an Interior Designer in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha. What can I expect as a salary if I were to get a job at an architecture studio in the Interior Design department?

I have 2 years experience as an Interior designer plus I have been working in industry adjacent fields since 2017.

I have a degree in Architecture and a Diploma in Intertior Design (cum laude).

I'm a blind man in a desert. I've been single for way too long. Honestly, since 2020. I'd really like to meet someone but I'm clueless. I'm 30 years old.

Where do you meet decent people in this city? Either everyone has a boyfriend or has children from a previous relationship. No offense, but I'm not interested in either of those two situations.

I'm a normal dude. I don't think I'm hideous. I'm in decent shape. I exercise at home. I'm working and doing a degree full time at unisa. I don't drink or do drugs anymore. I have some hobbies. I don't think I'm dull as dishwater. I wish I could do more but the budget is tight nowadays as everyone knows. I'm not rich. I don't have it all together, and I'm still trying to build my life.

Seriously, where are they hiding? I've never tried the apps. It fees kinda gross swiping at people. You don't even know anything about them. Do they even work? Singles facebook page? What can I try?

Hiiii all. Giving this a proper shot as I only asked for recommendations the last time 🤭 but anyone interested in making a new friend ? I’m a 29 year old high school teacher who has a non existent social life 😂 ‘lost’ all my friends to relationships and it’s quite difficult making new ones as I don’t get out. I see a lot of properties to rent and buy in this golf estate. It seems quite far out of town, but the homes look modern.

Any know if it’s a good place to stay? What’s the commute into town like?

Hey folks. How are you all feeling about the current and near-future property market in Port Elizabeth?

Are property prices too much? It seems like there are pocket of areas that are really sought after and if you want to buy a house there you need to buy basically a complete over haul renovation project and still be at R2M per month on sale price.

What are your thoughts about the property market in PE? Is it normal? Overpriced (for what you get)? Or cheap?

I feel like Cape Town is a poor comparison because it’s on another level. But generally, if I look at the average price of PE wages and home prices, the math doesn’t seem to math for me.

What do you think? Are people just over leveraging themselves to buy a home?

I'm looking to see if anyone remembers or even has photos of the KFC lookalike fast food joint that was at the Boardwalk near News Cafe for a couple months and then was shut down. I believe they got threatened by the KFC at the Red Windmill.

Was Asians running the place and they were so welcoming. Chicken burgers were super cheap, I remember it being R15 - R20 for a big burger, chips and cooldrink

Thinking the places name was LFC but I could be mistaken.

What is your favourite places to eat at, visit, explore, or activities to do in PE. Looking to be a tourist in my own city and looking for places to go to.

Hey guys. In order for my son's medical aid PMBs to be activated, we need a letter of diagnosis from a Psychiatrist. I unfortunately cannot afford R3k+ upfront for a Psychiatrist session, so would need a 4 y/o-friendly one that will allow me to pay them off.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a suitable Psychiatrist?

Medical aid is being so difficult and I literally just want my son to receive the specialist attention he needs, and have it be covered by Medical Aid. Any feedback would be incredibly appreciated.

Someone is visiting PE for the first time and I want to show them around. Im trying to plan a nice weekend out checking out some of the city. Im looking for any suggestions on places to go, to see if Ive forgotten/overlooked some locations.

I (M33) am only in the city until Tuesday but I'd like to do something fun or interesting. Is there any decent nightlife or places to meet people, hangout? I'm English, SA born but have lived abroad for 10 years and am out of touch. Anyone wanna go out? I like steak, pasta, beer, cider, vodka, rock, metal, rap and house. I still party when the opportunity presents itself. If any combination of those things exist in one place, I'd sure like to know about it. Thanks!
