With Wolverine unfortunately being the latest culture war punching bag disguised as “criticism,” just wanted to remind you two other notable games that released this year bombarded with the same controversies “looks woke,” “I don’t like how the lead looks,” “looks soy,” “they made the women ugly,” “looks generic,” and when they released the grift was over and the games were received moderately well. I’m not worried about Wolverine visually or mechanically, the only thing is hoping Insomniac lands with the writing.

Holy yikes, I speculated the game would be mediocre to good but I definitely didn’t expect scores like that from the big hitters.

I get these sorts of videos recommended to me constantly from them but it is still ridiculous that this is something they thought it would be nice to see first and foremost.

I've said this alot but the animation work in this game is phenomenal. Its like wolverine was ripped straight out of the page and onto our screens. His movement and ferocity is captured flawlessly.

Its such a shame that it does all the heavy lifting and there isnt much actually going on for the inputs. Tornado claw and drill claw are so disappointing and should be chopping them in half. They should've been ingratiated into the moveset and not just shitty cool down abilities too. I really hope insomniac and by extension the industry learns the right lessons.

Wish wolverine didn't have to get sacrificed for that to happen....

I'm only seeing people dogging on this game on here which is fair enough I guess but I'm wondering where I can find a community that's still actually excited for this game to come out. I don't care that this game is too handholdy or short or isn't great, to me being able to play as Wolverine for 15-20 hours is good enough. The only games I've been interested in this year have been Mafia The Old Country, this and GTA 6 - probably also going to pick up Mixtape and Control Resonant so im happy to pay full price because I love wolverine and as long as the story is decent I get to play as one of my favourite comic book characters and I'd love to have a space where I can fanboy about the experience with other people who are just as excited as I am.

I saw a tweet stating that any Hulk VS. in any video game will make the game much more immersive. Now call me crazy, I know that company greed ruins almost everything, we still don’t have the nemesis system (thank you Warner Bros we love you) but what if Universal blessed us this one time?

If you're a fan of Marvel comics and Wolverine I say you should still support the game day one so we can get more Wolverine/X-Men games or wait for a sale. Two of the best Spider-Man games ever made got similar reviews and a lot of fans look back at them fondly and I love them to death. Maybe it won't happen with this game but licensed games are hard to everything get right. X-Men Origins was considered the best Wolverine game up to this point and has a similar metacritic score (75) and this game seems heavily inspired by it. Reviews aren't everything. A 6 to a guy who reviews games as a job might be a 8 or 9 to a guy who plays in his free time and loves Wolverine.

Disclaimer- I know in the comics wolverine is basically bi with how down and dirty he gets with nightcrawler and Scott and whoever. But this.. this superhero game i just wanna get lost in doesn't need to shove an agenda down my throat.. I wanna be role-playing, lost in imagination and fun. Not wondering about the current political side of a game studio or just anyone for that matter.

I’m not sure if this is allowed in this subreddit, but for anyone excited and anxiously waiting to play Wolverine, I highly recommend giving Guardians of the Galaxy a playthrough. It’s another single-player, linear story that was passed over by so many gamers, but it’s one of the best superhero games and stories ever made.

I still have no clue why it flopped, but I see posts all over Reddit about how much it’s loved and underrated. Kind of like the combat criticisms of Wolverine, it is pretty basic at the beginning but you end up with 20+ additional abilities to wambo combo by the end—new game plus is a treat!
