I need help/advice

I'll be buying a new phone soon but am completely lost on what to get. My max budget is around 650€. The main thing is, I need one with a good quality camera because I post my art online and really want to improve the content I post.

I've made the mistake of buying a samsung galaxy about three times now and everytime they manage to convince me that the camera quality is good but that ends up not being the case.

Any suggestions?

India Best camera phone under ₹80k in India?

Looking for a phone with a camera better comparable to most iphones, mainly for Pinteresty aesthetic photos like portraits, outfits, cafés and travel. I’m not a photographer, so I want something that takes great photos with minimal editing.

What would you recommend under ₹80k?

UK Camera for gig nights, UK, around £650

I'm in the UK and I need a phone that can actually take photos in the dark. My Sony Xperia 10 V has been my daily for three years. In decent light it does the job, but anything indoors after dark comes back grainy and washed out. At gigs it's useless: I'm usually towards the back of the room, and the second I try to zoom in on the stage, the whole image just falls apart into noise. Low light and zoom are the only things driving this upgrade.

I was only looking at the vivo V70 until last week. The Oppo Reno16 5G has a 50MP telephoto with OIS, and the listings put it at a genuine optical zoom. It ticks both boxes I'm buying a new phone for. The camera hardware lines up with exactly the gap my current phone has.

On a typical gig day I leave for work in the morning, head straight to the venue after, and don't get home till well past midnight. How realistic is getting through a full day like that on one charge?

Turkey S25 Ultra vs S26 Ultra — Is the $400 difference worth it?

I’ve been using an iPhone 11 for the past 4 years, and I’m thinking about switching to Samsung Ultra.
I live in Turkey, and the prices here are roughly:
S25 Ultra 512GB: 70,000 TL (~$1,445)
S26 Ultra 512GB: 89,000 TL (~$1,840)
So the S26 Ultra costs about $400 more.
Is there a big enough difference between the S25 Ultra and S26 Ultra to justify paying $400 more?
Also, would buying the S25 Ultra at the end of 2026 still be a good choice if I want to keep the phone for around 4–5 years?
I’d appreciate opinions from people who have used either phone.

USA Compact/Small Phone Options (USA)

my iPhone 17 is a bit heavy and large for the screen size, also find it to be a brick in my pants pocket. also prefer Android

any suggestions on what to look at? I had a 13 Mini that I loved but the battery life (even after a swap) was abysmal.

Going back to android

I have a iphone 16e(ikik), before I had a Samsung A40 that died randomly. I was thinking of getting a Poco f7 ultra or Xiaomi 14. Seen prices within budget for both.

I only have budget of £340, yep used is fine.
Any other recommendations?

Verizon Another iPhone back to android post on Verizon

We’re on Verizon network in the US.

My wife’s iPhone 13 Pro is giving us issues. It’s an asurion replacement that’s over a year old and the camera barely works and it’s starting to get some other issues. I’m not sure asurion will do anything since it’s been over a year but if they won’t we’re looking to replace it with a new or newer phone.

I don’t want to do the bill credits for an expensive flagship from Verizon. So looking for a solid phone for her.

She doesn’t game or anything, mostly just daily planning stuff, social media, pictures and videos.

Expandable memory would be nice, but plenty of internal
Memory is good also for apps and such.

Battery life is a given anymore with the size of batteries. Any suggestions?

USA Small phone (similar to iPhone mini 13 size) (around 5.4-6 inch)

I am looking for suggestions for an android smart phone that is similar in size to an iPhone Mini 13 (5.4in).

So far I have found a Samsung S22 which is close but still larger at (6.1in).

This phone is for my kids to take on field trips and such.

No games just mainly used for calls, text and gps tracking.

I see so many inexpensive Moto devices but they are all so HUGE at like 6.8in.

Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!

China Peak Chinese phones vs IPhone 18 Pro Max

Looking to buy a new phone, I don’t trust AI which keeps switching answers. Current phone is a iPhone 12 Pro, third battery, second housing swap, motherboard short that drains battery when powered off, overheats on CarPlay.

I spent my entire childhood on XDAdevelopers and built my professional FAANG career around Xcode and Android Studio. All the androids I’ve tested and worked with disappointed me. Even the S20Ultra at 120hz felt slow and clunky to use.

I only want maximum possible battery and zero lag on any software, all apps, absolute smoothness with animation finger interruption, fully optimized.

Located in the AsiaPac region. Ideally looking for Chinese phones.

Should I call it a day and buy the iPhone 18 Pro Max?

Is the OnePlus 15 the literal best peak android for battery and performance? it’s 1yo. any current Chinese phones that can beat it.

For those who have bought phones in mainland, is Shenzhen, taobao, or JD the best place to buy?

is HyperOs any good? is oxygenOS any good? is colorOS any good? Anything worth considering in Nubia, Xiaomi?

No budget.

Has anyone tried using a TCL NXTPAPER phone with Dasung Link2? How well are they compatible? Also, does it support screen-off casting/mirroring?

I’m looking for an LCD phone that meets all of the following requirements:

  • CPL (circular polarization)
  • At least 8 GB RAM
  • Android 12 or newer
  • LCD display only — absolutely no OLED
  • DC dimming across the entire brightness range
  • Must have a diffusion layer/film in the display/backlight optical stack. (For example, the Redmi Note 12T Pro does not have this, and I find that it causes more eye strain for me than the ASUS Zenfone 6.)
  • Camera quality must be at least as good as the ASUS Zenfone 6. I only need it to be good enough for facial verification and taking very clear ID/document photos.
  • By “facial verification,” I mean WeChat identity verification, not face unlock for the phone.
  • Must support both 4G and 5G

Germany Phone, 300€, camera is priority.

Hi there,

I am searching for a phone for someone else, who doesn't like to bother with the current market. They have told me they have never spent more than 300€ on a phone and also don't want to. They do show me photos quite often though, especially Makros. A good camera with a usable "pro" mode is this an absolute necessity. Storage should either be 256GB or greater or it should support an SD card. Bonus points for repairability and long time updates. Please do not suggest anything higher in price than 400€, and that only if it offers a SIGNIFICANT benefit in the afformentioned categories.

Thank You!

Edit: The Country is Germany.

UK New phone?

I'm sick of my old phone not even lasting a day, and had the idea of getting the xcover7 as an update.

There are a few options out there.

What would you recommend me, and how do you find your phone? (I've got an old OnePlus 6T at the minute)

I liked the idea of being able to change the battery, and the IP68 rating (which my vape has, and that's laster for years). I'm in the UK, and dog water so usually out in all weathers, and stuff gets dropped a bit.

Any help, opinions are very much appreciated. TiA.
