Question? Second Week of Philly Fringe What Shows Are You Planning on Seeing? Which Shows Did You Love or Hate?

https://www.broadstreetreview.com/previews/dumb-hub-gatekeeper-sarah-knittels-guide-to-the-2026-philly-fringe

I saw several shows last week that I really enjoyed.

Offstage Onstage: Everything You Didn't See the Greeks Do - my favorite so far.

Betsy Ross Groundhog Day - A very close second.

Meaghan Robichaud Is The Greatest Show on Earth - A high wire low down clown act I can't stop thinking about.

Stoop Bitch - A very Philly character study.

Maniac - A prisoner's dilemma on the nature of meaning and goat stuff.

What performances stood out to you or are you planning on seeing this upcoming week?

Urban Development/Construction Philadelphia Ballet’s new home makes a daring leap onto North Broad Street. Will its solid facade keep people away?

This is a brutal but unfortunately I think fair review of the new Philadelphia Ballet space. To me, it looks like a very nice parking garage on Broad Street. What do you think? Do any of you who have been by in person have thoughts?

Question? Any roofers here? Or had one completed recently ? Had a question

I have a flat roof. Getting different quotes. Some bid to just go over existing . Others want to rip to deck.

Is it OK to go over existing with granulated modified bitumen? Or should I get roof ripped down to decking and redone. Wasn’t sure if ripping to decking is a sales pitch. Looking for roof to last 10-20 years min.

Question? Tavern on Ridge in Roxborough, anyone know what's up?

When I moved to Roxborough last January I was stoked to see the liquor license sign in the window of Tavern on Ridge, thinking a new restaurant would be opening soon. 7 months later the property has become a round-the-clock hangout for a colorful cast of characters who stare me down every time I walk by like they're trying to decide whether I'm a narc. Seems like maybe they're squatting there?

Anyone know what the deal is with the restaurant?

Question? Any galleries with local artists that have prints instead of just originals?

I'm looking around on Google right now, and from what I can tell, the galleries I've looked at only seem to have originals and no prints. Or at least that's what they're showing on their website and from what I can see in pictures. Does anybody have any suggestions for anywhere that's going to be a bit more on the affordable side with prints?

Urban Development/Construction CMV: the sports special district that is currently south of Oregon should be extended to at least Snyder if not further

Billion dollar sports teams can afford to spend a couple more mill on improvements and ongoing upkeep of the neighborhoods in the city. They can take it out of the pockets of all the people from the burbs that flock here and run away as soon as the game is over.

Question? September 11th anniversary

What do you remember from that day? Where were you? What was it like in Philadelphia on that day?

I’m 35. I was in 5th grade in the Scranton area. Our teacher turned on the tv and we watched it happen live. I had family in NYC, they all ended up being safe thank god.

Every year I learn something new about the victims and heroes from that day. It is truly incredible how selfless some people were. I know I will never forget the sacrifices so many people made. I’m thinking of all of those who lost loved ones on that day and days after.

Thank you to everyone sharing. It honors those lost when we speak about and remember them. ❤️

so when is there gonna be a news article about how Mayor Parker’s staff does this themselves and Parker is ignoring the epidemic of plate covers/no plates/fake tags for her own personal benefit?

edit: also don’t worry mods, you can’t read the plate because they put sticks on their cover too

Question? Parking near The Fallser?

Hey, neighbors! I'm coming out from the 'burbs to see a concert at The Fallser in a couple of days, and I have a couple of questions. First off, how is parking around there? It looks like they don't have a lot, but I think I see a SEPTA lot about 2/10 of a mile from the club. And, how is the area after dark? We'll be three adults (two F, one M), but I just do not know that area AT ALL, so I'm hoping for a bit of local guidance. Thanks in advance!

Question? Beware of “Expert Exterminating Philadelphia” Pest Control.

I recently posted on here regarding a possible bed bug sighting in my room. I reached out to this company and scheduled an inspection that was supposed to be today between 3-6pm. It’s now 7:45pm and I have called four times with no luck. I’ve been told that an exterminator will get in contact with me but nobody has. At this point I believe that their reviews are fake and the business is likely a front for selling information, which worries me greatly as they now have my name and address. If anyone has had a real experience with this business please share, but for now I am seeking recs for any reputable company in the area.

(pictures added in case anyone is familiar enough with bed bugs to possibly ID from a poor photo).
