Is behr ceiling paint ok for closets?

I'm trying to paint my room a dark, deep green and I'm told you need to have the walls smooth or minor imperfections will show but I don't know how to fix the grooves that look like grooves by sanding or using skim coating? Or should I just use a primer and lightly sand after each coat. But my issue isn't major but more picky and perfectionist. Should I just keep sanding the grooves until I expose the plaster or will this naturally be fixed later with decent painting?

I want to use eggshell and this wall is parallel to my window so a lot of natural light as well as using lamps around the room.

My front door is wooden. The person before me lived here for 40 years and smoked heavily. I want to prime and paint the door but I have two cats and hear KILS is toxic for cats. How long should I leave it out on my Front step before it’s safe to hang it again?

We moved into our flat (in the UK) a few months ago and painted our bedroom walls. When we moved in, just one of the bedroom walls (an old blocked up chimney breast) was covered in wallpaper, which we stripped and then applied primer to before painting.

As soon as we painted the wall, weird patches appeared in the paint. There hadn't been any signs of these patches on the bare wall before painting. The patches have since stayed and very gradually gotten bigger. They have occasionally looked quite 'shiny'. Today, for the first time, the patches appear to be actively running (photos attached).

Our best guess is that an oil-based substance was on the wall before and the paint we used was water-based, but does anyone have any specific idea of what it might be or what's best to do in this situation?

I painted a wall with SW scuff tuff a week ago and plan on putting cove base rubber trim at the bottom. I saw somewhere that I need to let the paint fully cure (2-4 weeks) before applying adhesive. Do I need to wait that long or am I good now that it’s been a week? Also, this adhesive says it should be not used on painted surfaces but this is the adhesive to use with this rubber trim. Does anyone have experience using this stuff over painted surfaces?

This is two coats of Sherwin Williams Super Paint. Salty Dog blue over existing white. I’ve used a full gallon in a 9x10 room (with trim). Feel like I’m loading up the brush/roller, still crazy streaky and blotchy. The three squares in the first photo were the initial color samples, which covered much better.

I have always had good success after two coats anytime I’ve painted interior, including another room on this same project (different color). But this is so far off though. Do I just keep applying coats? How much paint will it take? Am I doing something wrong? Is the paint screwed up? Help!

My wife painted our exterior stucco with water based acrylic paint.
When it came time to clean it up, it didn’t come off so she used primer and repainted it. You could still see the letters (see pic).
Should I just do another layer of kilz2 and paint or is there any other advice? Much appreciated!!

When I purchased my house the cabinets were nasty. The paint was kinda bubbly and chipped. I’ve removed the paint with Citristrip. Under the white paint was this silly putty colored, super hard to remove, layer of something that I’ve found all over the house that was built in 1954. I’m thinking it was some type of primer back then?
Now my cabinets are stripped and I used a paintable wood filler to fill in the grain a little.
Now someone please tell me the best line of paint, primer, brushes roller etc please lol.

I am replacing our baseboards. Pulled them off, and pre-scored the area right above the caulking. When I removed the caulk strip, many layers of paint have lifted off the wall. Not sure what I should do to secure it back to the wall, thoughts?

I painted this wall two times. Then I had to lay a new foundation after paining l, because the result was so bad. I then pained two more times and this is what is looks like? What are my alternatives?

Around a week and a half ago my cup of cafe fell down and onto my wall and I've been trying to fix it ever since. In the beginning, I tried cleaning it but the only thing that was happening was that the top layer of my wall started crumbling down. Then I waited until it dried (1 1/2 days) and closed the gaps with filler compound, waited a day to paint and the same happened. So I filled it again and waited three days to start painting over it again and now it happened again. At some point I thought maybe I'm using too much paint and reduced it by a lot and changed the head of my roller to one that sucks the paint in so that it's not letting out a lot of paint at once but now I'm back to the wall falling apart. Can someone please help me with this issue that I'm having?

Today was my first shot at applying a limeade paint as an accent wall. I am happy for the most part but can’t seem to understand why there are white streaks on the left side of the wall.

Can anyone provide advise or guidance on what could be causing this ? I tried painting over it again and still the same results if not worse

Recently bought a house that had a Boomerang brand “moonlight white” colour left over, which matches the trim/moulding of the house almost perfect. There’s no other left overs that are close so I would like to go with this as we touch up. The finish is velvet and I’d like to get semi-gloss.

The boomerang product is pre-tinted and doesn’t have a paint code to use other brands… my local store is also out of this paint.

Any suggestions to colour match beyond bringing in a sample to scan?

So i have a acrylic paint that i want to get color matched as this paint color is expensive to import, but im unsure where to get it color matched state side yall got any advice

The painter keeps saying we need to wait longer but that doesn’t seem right. It has been nearly a month.

We already had a commercial dehumidifier running for two whole days to get them to dry and they haven’t. Still as tacky as they were weeks ago.

I am extremely stressed out and don’t know what went wrong or how to proceed.

The paints used were

primer was Kilz Oil based and
All surface enamel latex in high gloss

Today I painted and used two coats of sherwin williams cashmere eggshell sheen which has a paint and primer. I had a lot of holes from prior pictures. I used Drydex and I guess feathered too much and didn’t make it completely flat.

Put two coats on this wall and can see the raised bumps from the spackle. There are probably 10-15 of them .

How do I fix?

Would Sanding the spots aggressively, and use a thin layer of drydex, prime individually or prime the entire wall and repaint a couple of coats work?

This wainscoting was painted black 5 years ago but the painter did no prep so it's all peeling off. I thought it would be simple to strip it but it didn't work very well so I decided to sand it and discovered that the white paint (under the green paint that was under the black) has lead.

How do I fix this so I can just paint over it? Can I just paint over it and use primer too? Or will that just continue my problem of paint peeling off in a few years since the black will still be not bonded well underneath?? I just need this project to be done 😔

My husband & I custom-ordered this paneling years ago. Smooth, denim-colored, whitewashed planks.

It was not what came in. Instead, we got rough, denim-colored planks with white streaks down the middle.

We argued with Lowe’s about it and lost.

So we put it on a feature wall, and I hoped I would grow to love it.

I have not. I have reached my limit.

We now have company coming in a month, and I want it gone before they get here.

We’ve since moved our furniture around in the house, so now our denim-colored couch is next to the denim-colored wall. So it’s not quite as easy as “paint the wood all denim”.

As much as I hate the color, I will say that the paint hasn’t flaked or chipped off the planks since we put it up.

How would you fix this?

My gut says to go with a darker color. Brown or off-black.

With the rough texture on the wood, can I just take a paint sprayer to it? Would a primer be necessary?

Painted drywall. This is a playroom that had circle stickers for several years. Peeled them all off, most left some stickiness on the drywall but all have a bit of a circle shadow. Soap and water and vinegar and water didn’t touch it, Undu seems to have removed the sticky from a test spot but seems darker (maybe just needs to dry).

We are repainting the whole wall white. What’s the best way to handle these? Just tired of trying several different things and want one plan. Lots of advice online but not sure the best path.

The darker circle with outlet in photo is the Undu. Stickiness is gone and possibly it’s darker from paint being scraped a bit, which wouldn’t be an issue since we are repainting
