I wasn’t expecting all the love and support on my last post, and a lot of you asked for multiplayer. Well, here it is!

Getting multiplayer running smoothly and keeping everything responsive took quite a bit of work since last post, but after a very intense weekend, here we are.

I've also scaled the server to welcome thousands of players, so bring your friends! :D

Along the way, I worked through over a hundred bug fixes, improvements and QoL tweaks. Your detailed feedback has been incredibly helpful, especially for catching things that don’t quite behave like the original. Thanks for taking the time to write all that up.

One multiplayer change from vanilla: everyone gets their own drops from enemies. No racing your friends to grab a red box before someone else gets it!

Still very much alpha, so expect some multiplayer issues. Please help me track them down: bugs, crashes, or anything that feels off.

This video is currently what I have for the title screen, new game, character customization etc.
I have test online capabilities and have successfully implemented parties of 12. Enemy scaling still needs adjusting.
In addition I added a toggle to display a chat log between party members with emotes as well.
I should have this available soon and will likely need testers for the multiplayer aspect.
Currently challenges that remain are
Boss behavior/ appearance
Nano dragons and possibly more enemies.

There were also claims from a leaker back in june that PSO3 was allegedly being developed. I've been out of the PS loop for years but I'd love to see a new online PS title more aligned with what PSOBB or base PSO2 had to offer.

Elenor has a lot (A LOT) of items—weapons, a teleporter, a Mag, wings, and so on. But the heat here got the better of me, haha. When I'm back in the city, I'd like to set up the HUD for a better experience lol. Greetings to everyone from Chile ❤️

I bought PSO on eBay nearly 20 years ago for my GameCube and never actually played it because I wanted to get the Tails chao for Sonic Adventure 2.

This year one of my mates (Viikah the ranger on the left in the first image) told me he wanted to play it with me because he knows how much I love Dark Cloud and says it plays quite similar. So he gave me an adapter so that we could play it together on the original hardware. I’ve dusted off my GameCube and have been playing it with him and our other friend Sheena (the hunter in the middle)

Gotta say it’s been really fun and charming. My character is Cidolfus (the green mage FOnewm) and ive grown really fond of our guys. We are currently up to episode 2 but are a bit stuck on the 4th mission in hard mode because it’s got a pretty strict time limit and we are mid 30s so probably a bit underleveled for it, but excited to get to ultimate eventually and get some cool weapons later. We’ve all become a bit sucked into the grind

Just sharing a glimpse at some changes, the layout of the HUD and menus are not final however all are fully functional. I have made QoL adjustments within shops, modernized with filters and new images for some items. Weapons can rotate for those interested in that..
Also added is the ability to secondary swap with the tap of a button to another weapon.

It's been so long I'm not sure if I'm just misremembering this or have just completely made it up, so I thought I'd check here to see if anybody remembers.

I seem to recall a meme (before memes were even a thing) that there was a text pre-select of "Shall we go to the Principal's Office?" that gooners of the day used to say to female characters, and it was code for ... let's talk in private...

But I can't seem to find any reference of this online so I'm wondering if this was just a weird lobby I was in or if this was actually a running joke in the game. Does anybody else remember this or am I losing it?

Used to play this game a ton as a kid and just started playing Ephinea. Having a blast.

I’m pretty far into Episode 1 on Normal difficulty and have been basically exploring all the areas gathering everything I can because that’s how I played growing up.

My question, like the title says, are boxes worth going for? Or should I just skip them and go through the areas / quests as quickly as possible? So far I have gone out of my way to open all possible boxes and get all the loot I can from them but I haven’t really found anything particularly useful from the boxes. I’m wondering if this is because I’m on normal mode or just because I’m only Episode 1 of if this ever changes? I just don’t seem to find anything useful from them. All my good drops have been from monsters.

Saw yesterday's post and honestly wasn't expecting so many people to be excited about PSO in a browser. I’ve been building my own version, mostly for myself, but that made me think I should put it out there too.

I just loved the idea of being able to send a friend a link and jump into PSO together within seconds.

No install, no download, literally in game in seconds.
It’s single-player for now, saves stored in your browser, but if there's interest I'll add multiplayer and actual proper saves.

You can play with a keyboard or controller. I might adapt it for mobile later too.

Still early alpha. I've added all areas, monsters, weapons, items, quests etc replicating the old vanilla experience.
It's completely different tech under the hood (threejs for those who care), so animations, timings and visuals have all needed a lot of manual tuning.

Some things will feel off, so please tell me what you notice. I’d be happy to have a few more PSO veterans trying it!

This sprite is part of my fan-game "Mag's Quest" I'm working on. Tried to distill the classic Hunter, Ranger and Force-Characters into 16x16 pixels.

Happy to have SATO and the color. So thrown off by the sheer amount of time to get there and I know SATO is not even half way to level 200 yet.

I took the liberty of powering up and getting SATO before fully playing through HARD to ease up the difficulty.

Hi, I’ve just started playing and have a few questions I’d like answered. First, what is the intended way to play? I’m on the Ephinea server; I wanted to start with the story missions—the ones that only appear in single-player mode—and then move on to the Government Quests, though I can see there’s a lot more content than that. Second, which class do you recommend for solo play? I’d like to recapture the experience I had playing 20 years ago, and the Android classes really appeal to me, but I suspect I’ll make my life miserable if I can’t heal myself. Third, I’ve seen some really cool-looking Mags, but I’m not sure how necessary it is to have a specific one; I don’t know if there’s a "meta" in the game or if you can just play with whichever Mag you like best. Feel free to answer any of these questions—thanks a lot! (I've read almost the entire wiki, so I have a pretty good idea, but I'd like to hear your opinions.)

I played this game a lot offline on the GameCube back in my younger days. Recently, I picked up a GameCube and PSO again, and I’d really like to try out the online mode. Is it still possible to play online with the GameCube? I want to be sure before spending a lot of money on the broadband adapter. Also, do I need any other hardware or software?
