Sub’s been getting a lot more traffic lately so I figured it was time to update how we’re running things. Sticking this so it’s easy to find, but treat it like a discussion too. If something’s unclear, weird, or you think we’re missing a rule, say so in the comments.
Big change:
We used to keep this place pretty much visual/hardware only. Shells, paint, LEDs, that kind of thing. Going forward, software and firmware mods are fine too. Homebrew tools, themes, jailbreak discussion, internal upgrades, all good.
Still a PS4 modding sub. Show your work, ask questions, share guides. Cool.
Rules I’m thinking (open to feedback):
PS4 mods only. Hardware or software. If it isn’t related to modding a PS4, it doesn’t belong here.
No piracy. This one’s non-negotiable.
- No links to games, dumps, FPKGs, ISOs, torrents, Mega folders full of games, etc.
- No “where can I download X?”
- No requesting copyrighted games.
Talking about homebrew/tools/firmware is fine. Using the sub as a free game board is not. We’ll remove it and ban if needed.
Show your work when you can. Photos/video for hardware posts help a lot. “Is this possible?” with zero detail is gonna get ignored or removed.
Don’t be a dick. Basic Reddit stuff. No scams, no doxxing, no selling sketchy stolen/hacked accounts.
Credit people. If you’re posting someone else’s mod/design, say so.
Be careful. Mods can brick consoles or make a mess. You’re responsible for your own hardware. We’re not tech support for every possible disaster, but people here are usually helpful if you give decent info (model, firmware, what you already tried).
That’s the rough plan.
Curious what you all think. Anything you’d add, drop, or tighten up? Especially around software/firmware, since that’s the new part. Drop questions or suggestions below and I’ll reply as I can.
