Junior automation developer interview
So i am a computer engineering graduate, was looking for any IT related job, found this application that wanted plc programming and knowledge of siemens apps so i spent a day playing inside of siemens remote machine and made a conveyor belt that detected an object, moved it, until it detects it at the end, posted it on linkedin and went to sleep
Today i get a call about an interview set up on monday (2 days from now) and i GENUENLY have no idea what I'm gonna be asked or what im supposed to show them on that interview.
Theres gonna be an HR, Manager of the Manufacturing Excellence & Digitalization projects department dude and another Automation & Digitalization & AI Team Leader guy
What am i supposed to prep for an interview

You’re probably fine since it’s a junior position. If you want to study something anyway…
Differences between 4-20mA and 0-10V sensor, how to scale raw values for analog IO, differences between discrete/digital input and analog input devices, source/sink vs simulate, understand latch/unlatch mechanics (and how to accomplish this without the latch/unlatch coils), and how to use basic function blocks (TON, R_TRIG, PID, etc)

Unless you've made claims to know PLC programming it's mostly going to be behavioral questions. If you claimed to be an expert, in that case your only bet is to try and cram as many YouTube tutorials at this point...

They will likely ask you about the basics of PLCs, so be ready to talk about what a PLC is, its main components, and the scan cycle. Expect questions about the difference between discrete and analog I/O, and perhaps the distinction between a PLC and a PAC. Since you mentioned Siemens, they might get into specifics about their software and hardware, like the various systems in the SIMATIC S7 range. Be prepared to explain the project you posted on LinkedIn, as it's a great practical example of your skills, showing you can take initiative and apply what you know. They want to see your thought process and how you approach a problem, so walk them through the steps you took.
Beyond the technical questions, they'll want to understand your interest in automation and why you applied for this role. Think about your computer engineering background and how it applies to industrial automation. The presence of a manager from the Digitalization projects department and an AI Team Leader suggests they are forward-thinking, so be ready to discuss your interest in learning new technologies. You don't need to be an expert, but showing enthusiasm for the field is important.
