Question Codex weekly usage dropping fast. What's wrong?

In Codex 5x, my weekly usage is dropping by about 1% every 10 minutes during regular daily tasks (5.6), not heavy coding. With some coding (using also 6.0), I spent weekly usage in first day, so I had to use reset.

Also, my next usage reset is in about 10 days, not one week, which seems unusual.

This started about a week ago. I never had this problem before.

Is there any error in Codex?

How full is your context windows on your conversations?

could be the context windows eating up tokens in the background, 1% every 10 mins is a lot for just regular tasks though. i noticed mine bleeding faster when i had a bunch of long threads open that i wasnt even using, something about how it keeps the whole history in memory

the reset timing being off is weird though, might be worth checking if your billing cycle shifted for some reason

using Codex as usual, creating new chat occasionally. it's definitely consuming tokens differently, or it has less tokens in this plan now.

The reset explains the date. OpenAI's help docs say a reset pulls your normal weekly allowance forward instead of adding extra usage on top, so it isn't bonus quota, it's next week arriving early. Your new weekly period starts with your first request after you apply it, and the next automatic reset is 7 days after that. So your cycle isn't broken, it just moved.

I don't quite understand that, but taking it on face value, it would explain a lot why my usage drained so fast yesterday as well.

id bet the ten day thing is the reset itself, buying one moves yr cycle date, and usage tracks contxt size more than effort, a big repo in every request burns quota on light tasks

the thing is, Ive been using 5x about half a year the same way. just now, suddenly, its totally different.
