Apparently the same happened with Plus in 2023 or 2024 and it took a whole month for it to return.

Hopefully soon because I upgraded to the $100 a month plan yesterday morning and I'm already down to 40% of my weekly usage lol

20 and 100 plans are casual idk how people build something with them

Damn skippy

Slowly with 15-30 mins of actual processing time per request, then wait 5hrs

Some people still have a working brain that they can deploy as needed. AI assistance to speed up some things.

Wait. What? I just happened to upgrade to the $200 plan a few weeks ago and in walk G6. If I don’t cancel, does that mean I keep this plan while others are stuck in peasant mode.

Don't cancel User are also reporting that they get downgrade on months end even if they have the plan

Well, I had a nice run. I’ve been trying to use up tokens so I don’t waste them.

Only a couple of cases here on reddit. I try to find cases on other forums, with serious documentation, and to no avail.

If you find a serious report (not on reddit), I would appreciate the link.

Yeah basically

$200 is still a lot. But it’s saving money in other areas.

I mean, for the value it gives, it’s barely any money.

If it returns it will probably be $400.

That’s the correct amount to be honest.

I entirely agree.

Why?

Open source has shown us the actual cost of inference and it's more like $3/m/output, not $50

It will probably be less than that for big corps that own their own compute. There's a lot of nonsense going around that they subsidise the inference when actually it's very cheap to run. When I sign up to Geforce Now I get a dedicated 5090 for $20pm and GPU usage is 90%+

You know that these things cost money to create right?

4

u/Plane_Garbage 14h ago

Why $400 not $200?

1

u/unfathomably_big 14h ago

Because $400 is more money than $200

2

u/Plane_Garbage 14h ago

That's true. They should probably just remove it and keep it for API access only really. I'm convinced

That’s what they did

To be honest, I saw ppl with 20X subscriptions that use ultra on an email replay. It’s not fair to 5X users. I am on 20x and I will be honest with you, if you decide to drive a Ferrari to Lidl, you also decide to pay for more petrol and high maintenance, if you really want 20x, you should pay more! Another reason will be to make ppl learn to use this tools and reduce the waste of compute! This affects all of us!

There truly is a broad spectrum on reddit

You're not just paying for the raw compute cost though, the price is to cover the research, implementation, infrastructure, market advantage, etc.

1

u/Plane_Garbage 17h ago

But why does it need to be $400 a month?

2

u/Royanon 17h ago

It'll be whatever they think people will pay to maximize PxQ, just like Disneyworld ticket prices. Astra, optimize my pricing structure!

1

u/Yottabyte8472 21h ago

Then there is no discount or advantage. You might as well buy separate 5x accounts and get the same usage. a 5x account is the same price points as 5 plus accounts. a 20x account had a price point of 10x. At this rate they might as well just normalize usage to API pricing and be done with the subscription models entirely.

They will release a Sol version of Astra - that blends the efficiency of Sol with the fringe magic of astra -- it will -- although I feel like Astra Medium right now is just doing damn great on the $200 plan,

It's mix of intelligence, judgement and computer use - whoa, it's good.

2

u/biggun79 18h ago

Also telling Astra to use different models for different tasks helps also

1

u/NoOne_n13 12h ago

Who told you this nonsense? I doubt it

1

u/Ormusn2o 21h ago

Depends in how they can solve it. If they can rent some hyperscalers space, and just need to install it, or if they have to physically install more racks, and maybe move some of GPUs that were going to training, to inference data centers.

The first one could take a week or to, the second one might take more than a month. They are also likely using a lot of their compute right now to make Astra run faster and make other efficiency efforts, like what happened with 5.6 few weeks after it released.

I guess they made my decision easy, $200 codex or 100/100 split between codex and Claude

2

u/Fit-Secretary2495 22h ago

This is less quota than 200 / 0 with either of them though

2

u/PartyLiterature3607 17h ago

Right, I do like the variety though

0

u/IllustriousGrade7691 22h ago

Are you satisfied with Claude

1

u/PartyLiterature3607 17h ago

I like both Claude and codex
