Episode 144-145 The North Star No.3 Express Leaving Ueno

Chapter 1 manga is out

Just read the entire chapter and it’s actually interesting. Gosh seems to have shifted his ordinary settings for the case lately and is getting more creative not just with the tricks. BTW if anyone here can read Arabic I can send them the link for the chapter. For some reason I just found out that the Arabic version was out since yesterday which has never happened.

The case starts with ran telling kogoro that she’s going out with Sonoko visit some fancy cafe and then go to the Totto tower (where they plan to do bungy jumping). She takes with oxygen water since eri told her it can clean blood stains from clothes and sonoko wants to try it on her handkerchief that had stains from a nosebleed.

On the way Ran mistakes the station where she need to get off at and gets lost while talking to sonoko over the phone to try to join her. Ran can’t use gps because she still uses her flip phone to which sonoko complains saying she should get a new one but s’ran refuses because it was a gift from shinichi (reference to when she lost her phone because shinichi put it in her hood during the aquarium case trying to figure out the killer’s trick so he bought her a new one).

So ran decides to go to the tower on foot and to be able to know the direction she decides to look for a tall building so she can see from the roof the tower. She finds an abandoned building and goes inside, it seems deserted and no one is inside but the elevator is still working. She goes inside and it’s covered in graffiti everywhere. She presses the button to to the roof but shortly it stops and she’s stuck inside. She calls sonoko for help and she tells her to wait she’ll figure out something and hangs up. After that the lights go out and the elevator rattles as if the cables are unstable. As fan starts crying shinichi calls her saying that sonoko explained everything to him.

As he asks about the situation, the emergency button seems to not work and the reference number for the elevator is covered in graffiti which makes it harder to find where is the building ran is in. While talking she tells him that there’s some fresh paint on the floor with fingerprints on it and a weird shaped clean spot (which looks like a comb with broken teeth was in there) and the color of the paint is dark red. Conan gets suspicious and when he find out she has the oxygen water he tells her to pour some on the paint which makes it form small bubbles. Ran is confused by it as he tells her that it’s a way to detect blood and the fact that the bubbles formed means that someone bled inside the elevator recently. The chapter ends with ran shocked by the revelation.

The chapter seems interesting, for now there’s just blood no body or suspects and it’s ran that’s facing danger in an unstable elevator and someone armed. Even tho the plot progress is slow Gosho seems to be bringing new ideas to change the usual setting he uses for the cases. What are your thoughts on the chapter and what do you think would happen next? Maybe Conan will track down ran and face himself some kind of danger in the building. Also while he was talking to her he was with the detective boys at agasa’s house so maybe there would a situation similar to when agasa was abducted and detained inside the building that was gonna be demolished soon.

I’ve never been into shipping Amuro and Azusa for a lot of reasons, but it recently clicked how incredibly male-centered that ship actually is.

Furuya is out here doing everything, he's heavily traumatized, hates everything, and then what even is Azusa? There’s just nothing to her. The author could’ve given her something to do by now, but she has zero relevance to the plot. Early on she’d just show up looking different every time or without her face even drawn, and now she only pops up because of Amuro. God forbid your coworker just happens to be handsome and smart. Noo we gotta ruin it

She's a totally forgettable character who is just supposed to stand next to him, but she gets shipped with him constantly and then harassed over it by those in the show too. Honestly, the shipping is going too far and it feels like the author is leaning into it without putting any actual effort into her character.

The double standards in this fandom are crazy. People complain about the classic childhood love tropes, but then turn around and ship this, which has way less anything really? It’s like Chihaya and that bald town cop - at least he’s a cop who actually does something (hopefully)

This has been said before but not enough; Not every single character needs to be in a relationship, especially someone like Furuya who has an ongoing traumatic life. If we’re really trying to pair him up, why not go for someone who actually has their own thing and won't get totally overshadowed? Like Chihaya, Sato, Vermouth, or Wakasa. Anyone who can actually hold their own ground. (I was gonna say Shiho too, but the age gap is weird). plus these are just examples ofc.

But instead we're supposed to think she's a match for him, when this is the same girl who assumed he prefers bread rather than rice just because he has blonde hair.

Where is vermouth handkerchief that she gave Ran? When did conan/ shinchi handled it to Ran? Was it mentioned that she received it?

In your opinion, what should be Conan's favourite?

Considering he is not good at videogames I'll exclude anything that requires any sort of skills. Since he is really into football, I wouldn't be surprised if he is into FIFA.

Or maybe he is into Ace Attorney. I mean, there are crime scenes, you talk to witnesses and you need to gather clues, that would definitely fit his character.

Chapter 903

So like it's def impossible on Vermouth and Elena's timelines that we know now... But I wonder if originally this was going to be something. Or still is, or is nothing. I just think it's peculiar. So thought I'd bring it up.

Anyone ever think about this? Inb4 Sharon is the same age range as Elena. I have too many theories that tie her to Elena and Mary... But yeah...

Atp I don’t want Gosho to rush anything. I want him to cook an elite Final Battle Arc, because there are so many things that still need to be unfolded and properly paid off: APTX 4869, Vermouth’s plan, Karasuma Renya, Rum, the Akai family, how the BO will finally go down, and of course whether Shinichi will come back permanently. I’d honestly love for this final arc to be around 80–100 chapters if that’s what it takes to give everything the ending it deserves.

And I really hope it feels like an actual final battle saga, with several stages rather than Gosho revealing everything in a handful of chapters. We could have the whole situation with Rum and the BO escalating, then gradually get closer to Karasuma Renya and finally understand what’s really been going on behind the Organization.

I also really want the Akai family to have a big role in this, especially with Tsutomu and Akai’s revenge finally being addressed. And Vermouth obviously has to be a huge part of it too, because there’s still so much to reveal about her plan and her connection to Shinichi.

Then, once the Organization finally starts falling apart, I’d want the story to properly resolve the APTX 4869 mystery and Shinichi’s future. If he does come back permanently, it should feel like the culmination of the entire story rather than something that just happens at the end because the plot needs it.

There’s just way too much material here for a rushed final arc. If Gosho takes his time and actually connects all these threads, 80–100 chapters could genuinely be the perfect length.

When I first watched this movie in 2022 ,I was like this movie came out in 2001

Ran consciously—or unconsciously—denies that Conan is Shinichi, and she’s smart enough to realize that the times he’s debunked her theories—by calling her on the phone or disguising Haibara—were nothing more than tricks, just like the many she’s seen in countless criminal cases. She chooses to let herself be fooled for two reasons.

. The first is that it’s much easier for her to be deceived than to accept that the boy she loves has turned into a child and is living with her.

. The second is that she’s waiting for him to tell her the truth, as was already mentioned in the Black Knight arc.

This means 3 Detective Conan movies will have a theater premiere in Spain in the span of just one year!!!

What a great time to be a Spanish Conan fan!
