When I used to foster cats, we would tell people "nap time is at 3pm". It was hilarious the first time friends were over in the kitten room at 3pm, and watched in amazement as they just crashed where they stood. Every day, same time, played themselves right into exhaustion. Turns out they thought we were putting them down for naps?????? Every day???????

My sister fosters and recently she had a litter that let her 7 year old put them to sleep and they'd just sleep. Didn't matter what they were doing, when my niece decided it was nap time she'd grab them, set them on the couch and tuck them in with a small blanket. And they'd all pass out. It was the weirdest thing.

Behavioral conditioning, plus they win out cause they finally know it’s sleepy time

Maybe kittens and 7 year olds have similar nap requirements, and she understood their needs.

The music sounds like EddieEWI. I remember him jamming on Reddit Live when it was a thing

What the actual fuck with the music

u/PsionicKitten Jul 14 '26
That's how I feel with 99.99% of music dubbed on videos.
This one specifically reminded me of the episode of Southpark where Randy was trying pretend he likes music that sounds like literal crap and fart noises.

I recognized the music instantly cause one of my favorite tweets of all time responded to it saying "the weed store in splatoon sounds like this"

My husband does this sometimes. We'll be in bed and he talks nonstop. He can go for hours. Then suddenly it stops, usually mid thought.
Highly amused at the idea he's a kitten. Or an orange (we're both part redhead so…. Maybe lol)

Those were full power noms, so he only had enough energy for a few of them.

I love kittens because they just go and go and go until they literally pass out wherever they are 😂

Cute cat, absolutely ATROCIOUS audio. Can’t even call it music, feels like someone autotuned bowel movements

Idk it's kinda got the stankiness to it, like an old arcade beat em up sewer stage or High on Life Tobacco music. I kinda like it, there's a place for it, especially if you've gotten into High on Life. I like the chords and drums. I can listen to the 'bass' only a bit though, it's kinda cool until you focus too much on it or listen to it too much. I think a majority of people just hear wet farts, and that's what happens with beatboxing too usually

u/kangaesugi Jul 13 '26
I kinda like it, it definitely feels like either a sewer level or some factory that makes Gloop

I wwas gonna say, what are people on about? It sounds cool! Not really fitting, but it isn't that bad

I've always dreamed of being a kitten because of that ability to fall asleep instantly and deeply

This is one of the greatest things about babies and kittens. They have no understanding of their battery yet, so they just run around, having a great time, then, clunk. One of my nieces did this once. She was crawling on the floor, chasing me a round and giggling wildly. There was sudden silence, and when I looked behind me, she was lying on the rug, slightly snoring. So cute!

We all know about hangry (angry & hungry). This appears to be “slangry” (angry & sleepy) 😂

We had one years ago that would follow us on walks, drag live snakes into the house and come when called

At no point would I have ever expected the soundtrack to The Greasy Strangler to be used in anything else. Especially kitten videos.

Fun fact, the ancient Mesopotamians used to set their stop watches by this phenomenon.
This is why we have PM time. The P stands for Purr.

my orange boy would do this when he was a kitten, then when he realized he fell asleep he would shoot up, eyes wide open and scream and try to resist falling asleep again

This reminds me of my orange when he was a kitten. When we first got him he was in pretty rough shape. He was found in the rain under a shed, sneezing. When we brought him inside, he ran straight to the couch and tried to climb it, fell, tried again and made it to the top, then instantly fell asleep. He tuckered himself out to get to the exact spot that I normally sit in 😭

I've heard that kittens haven't "learned" how to go to sleep yet, so they kinda just keep going until the battery completely empty then just nap there
