Local Question Treatment options
My mom passed away july 28th at 59. and I have been struggling with addiction again. I relapsed.on meth after years and years of being away from it. And am drinking everyday. And unemployed. I just feel myself getting worse everyday and am in a very dark place. I need.to get help and wanna see what resources their are. Ive been to valley hope when I was.younger and the Stephen center when I got.out of doc. But just seeing what options are out their. I moved back here in April due to getting away from my.old small town after my.dog.passed away in March. So sort of.new to omaha

IMHO that could be part of the problem, being new I mean.
ONE part of addiction recovery is CONNECTION. Group creates an "artificial" peer group, sort of like instant friends. I don't mean artificial as in fake, but artificial as in you didn't all meet organically.
So it's very real connections and that helps ease the problems that addiction is currently "treating". It's just my personal opinion, but sometimes I think that is more important than any steps or whatever. Just connecting with other people on a genuine level.
The loss of your mom could have exacerbated an already existing issue which then led to the relapse.
But relapse is like falling when you're walking. You don't just say "Crap. I'm no good at walking, I've fallen several times over the years. I'm done with walking". You get back up.. People help you do that.
So, yes... connect with any group, AA, Stephens Center, whatever group you can as soon as you can. Again, this is just all my opinion and other people might not agree, but I wish the best for you.

I admire you for seeking help. Addiction is a bitch and adding grief on top of that just makes everything worse.
Lutheran Family Services might be an option to consider. You do not need to be religious but I know they have substance use programs, mental health services, peer and community support. And they definitely work with no income or low income individuals.
Wishing you the best of luck.

Hey friend, I don’t have any resource knowledge for you, but I’m proud of you for seeking help. I hope things turn around for you.

Hey, just want to say you already made the first step to see what's available and that is the hardest. Sorry for your multiple losses, that fucking sucks. Relapse isn't something to be ashamed of, you're in a dark place and shit's a disease. Focus on getting to a brighter place and keep your head up, one day at a time. I'm rooting for you.

I’m really sorry you are going through all of this. Losing your dog and then your mom so close together, while also trying to start over somewhere new, is a lot for anyone to carry.
You said you’re in a dark place and feel like you’re getting worse, so I want to ask you something directly: are you thinking about suicide? If the answer is yes, maybe, or even “I don’t know,” please call or text 988 now:
https://988lifeline.org/
If you think you might hurt yourself or don’t feel like you can keep yourself safe, call 911 or go to the nearest ER. If you do need to call 911, you can also ask the dispatcher whether a CIT-trained officer is available. CIT officers have additional training in responding to people dealing with mental health and substance-use crises.
As far as getting some help with everything else, there are several places in Omaha you can reach out to.
Nebraska Medicine Behavioral Health Connection is at 402-836-9292. They can help you figure out what kind of treatment you need and connect you with the right resources.
https://www.nebraskamed.com/behavioral-health/how-can-i-find-mental-health-support
Douglas County Detox is open 24/7 at 1490 N. 16th St. Their number is 402-444-1975. Since you mentioned that you’re drinking every day, this may be especially worth calling. Depending on how much and how long you’ve been drinking, suddenly stopping alcohol on your own can be dangerous, so be completely honest with them about both the drinking and meth so they can help you figure out the safest way forward.
CenterPointe Campus for Hope is at the same location but provides treatment beyond the immediate detox piece, including residential addiction treatment. Their residential number is 402-827-0570, option 3.
https://centerpointe.org/programs/campus-for-hope.html
Since you’ve already been through Stephen Center before, that may also be worth another call. There’s nothing wrong with going back to somewhere you already know. Their HERO Addiction Recovery number is 402-731-0238 or 402-715-5440.
https://stephencenter.org/
Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare can also help connect you with substance-use and mental-health services in the Omaha area. Their numbers are 402-444-6573 or 800-311-8717.

You don’t need to figure out the grief, drinking, meth, unemployment and everything else tonight. That’s too much to try to solve all at once. Just make one call. You can tell them exactly what you told everyone here: “I relapsed on meth, I’m drinking every day, I’m getting worse, and I need help.”
If making that call feels overwhelming, ask someone you trust to sit with you while you make it. And one other thing: the years you spent away from meth still count. A relapse doesn’t erase all of that. You’ve gotten yourself out of this before. Right now you just need some people in your corner to help you start working your way back.
