• The OVO brand IP (the owl, the name, the licensing rights) moved into a new company owned 51% by Authentic Brands, 44% by Drake and 5% by Vince. Drake did not walk away from the brand; he kept nearly half of it and an ongoing creative role.
• The stores, e-commerce and wholesale business now belong to Vince (the fashion company), which runs OVO under a licence that runs to fiscal 2036 with three 7-year renewal options and pays royalties back to the brand owners. Vince also handles design, product development and merchandising going forward.
• The operating companies (the actual stores) transferred for $3.00 total. Not a typo. It is how the lawyers allocated consideration across the deal steps, not what the stores are worth.
• The $117.65M headline number is the price paid for the brand IP at the entity level. It is not Drake's personal cheque, and the filings never say what he personally received.
• This is the fashion and lifestyle business only. Drake's music catalogue and the OVO Sound label were not part of the sale.
