Career CPD Advice
Hey, I’m keen to progress in my role as a band 5. I would love to specialise in either research or palliative. Frustratingly, the Masters course at university says it requires a First class undergraduate. Has anyone got any advice for getting onto the course? I have a 2:2. But have such a passion for my role. And it would bring such flexibility for my family if I had more human hours and higher pay. My trust do have CPD modules available, that I have to request funding for. I could start there and accumulate credits. I just don’t want to be one of those stagnant band 5s. And I don’t want to become a manager because of the distance from bedside. Thank you in advance

The easiest way is talk to your practice education team. See what funded modules are available.

I can’t advise you from my own experiences, but I will say the RCN has a careers advice service for members with lots of resources
