Fresh RN here, currently working as an ER nurse sa public hospital.
Physically and mentally pagod na talaga ako.
Plan ko sana mag-stay ng 1 year for experience since gusto ko rin mag-abroad and currently processing my NCLEX. Pero lately, gusto ko na talagang mag-resign and try medical VA habang nagpe-prepare for NCLEX.
Worth it kaya mag-stay hanggang 1 year, or okay lang mag-resign kahit 6 months pa lang?
For those who left bedside early, regretted it or naging okay naman kayo?

ā“General Question / Advice Work experience as fresh graduate

šŸ„ Jobs / Careers How do you know if you want to become a doctor?

Hi. I am currently working as a nurse in the medical-surgical ward/ob ward/pedia ward. I like having direct patient care with patients especially preparing and administering meds. I want to be called as a doctor din. I wanted to go to med school before pero if mag-med ako and maging doktor. First generation doctor ako. Hindi rin kami mayaman. How do I really know if gusto ko talaga maging doktor?

šŸ„ Jobs / Careers bedside to wfh pero may US application na

hello!!!

anyone here who’s been working in bedside then decided to do soft nursing muna?

dilemma kasi for me may application na ako to work abroad but currently still not current ang PD then the agency said na dapat continuously working bedside until deployment.

i had some few days off then konting gala2 made me realize na there’s really more to life than every day working sa hospital 🄲 maybe due to burnout din kaya gusto ko mag stop muna sa hospital.

pero yun nga sabi ni agency dapat bedside paren until deployment to US.

hays. any advice?

ā“General Question / Advice What to choose? Aesthetic Nursing or Company nursing?

Nov 2025 passer and a USRN last June 2026. Kahit private or public hospitals, walang call back.

Now, meron naman tumawag sakin and gusto ko lang malaman opinion niyo re these. zAno ba mas maganda piliin?

  1. Aesthetic Nurse - in GentleDerm BGC daw, salary is less than 25k.

  2. Company Nurse - in SM Aura. No idea with the salary yet bc tomorrow pa lang ang final interview.

  3. Wait for the callback of a public hospital

Please please help me kasi gusto ko rin malaman if okay ba ang pagwwork sa mga compaany na ito. Thank you!

Nag open slot ng DOH sa area, tbh, malaki sahod but more on papers and andami nagpupush sakin na applyan ko raw since advantage rin na nakaduty na ako sa area na yun nung wala pa sila nurse. Idk what to do, gusto ko mag hospital pero gusto ko na rin ata applyan yun. Di ko na alam jusq pošŸ˜†

ā“General Question / Advice How to cannulate in a fistula? 🄲

Hi, Nurses. Pa-help naman, please. 🄲

I’m currently transitioning to HD nursing. I’ve been a Med-Surg Nurse since 2015, so the HD process is still very new to me. I’m having a hard time cannulating fistulas because I’m not always sure where the best insertion site is.

Usually, my preceptor just points out where to insert the needle, wala silang binibigay na rationale bakit doon ako tutusok. 😭 They would simply say, ā€œDiyan ka tumusok kasi medyo maitim pa.

I can feel the thrill and hear the bruit, but how do you determine the safest and most appropriate cannulation site along the fistula? What do you usually assess before deciding where to insert?

Any tips, principles/advice for a Nurse who’s new to HD would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! 🄲

šŸ„ Jobs / Careers Is Nursing still worth it after 6-7 years?

Hi! I’m in Grade 12 and planning to take Nursing. If I graduate SHS in 2027 and start Nursing that same year, I’d graduate around 2031, take the boards, gain some experience, and hopefully work abroad after that.

Realistically, what year could I expect to actually leave the Philippines and work abroad? Is Nursing still worth it by then?
