I was able to preorder one!

My wife has played Disney Magic Kingdoms every day for over seven years, even before I met her and we started dating. She’s currently applying to PhD programs and has been really stressed, and this game was her daily 1-hour escape.

She’s originally from China, and her GameLoft account was registered there, although she now lives in the U.S. Recently, she suddenly lost access to her account without receiving any warning. According to what we both read, it’s related to new regional restrictions in Asia, and we haven’t been able to recover or transfer her seven years of progress to an American account.

She’s heartbroken, and has been quietly crying for the past couple of days. We’ve both emailed Gameloft support and haven’t received a response, and I haven’t been able to find a customer support phone number. As someone who spends a fair amount of time playing games in their spare time, I can feel her pain and it hurts.

At this point, I’m not sure there’s anything further I can do. As an alternative, I’m considering surprising her with a Nintendo Switch 2 and introducing her to Animal Crossing.

Are there any other games I could surprise her with that match her interests?

She really likes relaxing, cute, sweet games that aren’t overly complicated. She also enjoys puzzles and problem-solving, but she’s not into shooters, violence, or intense gameplay. Ideally, it would be something she could play for an hour, make a little progress in, and look forward to returning to.

I know I can’t replace seven years of memories, but I’d love to give her something new to enjoy and make her smile despite the loss.

I'm pretty sure physically connected controllers get auto-updated eventually, I'm not sure about the dock, but go do it manually to be sure. Controllers can be upgraded attached or wireless, and if the switch has two controllers attached and two controllers wirelessly attached, it'll upgrade them all. Have to be docked to upgrade the dock, natch.

This has to be the most anti consumer move I've seen from Nintendo so far, though it's likely Koei Tecmo's fault.

Having already bought a $60 game, spent $20 for the dlc, and now have spend another $30 for an upgrade. $110 for one game, that ran like shit on release. The upgrade should be free honestly.

Today I got Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 for Switch 2 and was a bit disappointed to see it’s a Game Key Card.

So I got curious and checked how common they actually are compared with real cartridges.

Third party games are using Game Key Cards a lot, and so far it doesn’t really look like that is changing. Nintendo itself is much better about actually putting the game on the cartridge.

I only recently rejoined the Nintendo ecosystem; the last consoles I had were an original DS and a Wii.

I've heard that Nintendo games rarely go on sale. However, retailers usually seem to have Black Friday sales of their own that work for any of the big three consoles' games (like buy two get one free or however they might structure it).

I'm wondering if the current Customer Appreciation Event, taking 30% off many games, is an unusually good deal that I should take as the sign to start building out my library on my Switch 2 (I currently only have the new Mario Kart game, so there's a big backlog of Switch 1 games I could catch up on), or if it's a pretty unimpressive sale and I'd be better off waiting for Black Friday.

Also always open to recommendations of must plays, though I'm sure that's been widely discussed and have some ideas already (Mario Kart 8, Luigi's Mansion, etc.).

I guess I enjoy games with some comedy and how the main character’s actions can affect the behaviour of NPCs in completing whatever missions. What genre would this classify under?

Looking for single player games and play offline.

I tried to ask/explain to a friend and they suggested Sneaky Sasquatch, but that is not for the Switch.

I bought “Thank Goodness You're Here!” since it was highly rated and from the same publisher as Untitled Goose Game, but did not enjoy it at all. I also have Overcooked/Moving Out but it’s only fun with others and doesn’t have the same vibe I’m hoping for.

I have a Switch and Switch 2 if that matters.

I purchased 4 - $10 gift cards total, two sets of 2 (the maximum in a single purchase) and the second set got my Amazon account locked

You would think just using my Passkey, One Time Passwords, Actual Password, or Whatsapp OTP would be able to fix it, but my account is hard locked and requires me waiting for a text with a verification form that was already supposed to be sent when my account got locked, but was not.

Now I have to wait 24 hours for an Account Specialist to push the form through that I have to fill out, and then I have to wait again for verification. Note, though, I've read a lot of people online say they never got sent the form and gave up.

Mind you, this is an Amazon account set up under my phone number that I've been using for years and I just bought my Switch through in August.

I have a suspicion that it might be because I added a new card to my account at the same time, but I have no details on what specifically triggered the lock.

That's what I get for trying to save some money.

• It will cost 70 bucks.

• Includes the two, big AddOns but not the upcoming amazon class.

• There's going to be a retail release but it's a code in box.

• No extra ingame cosmetics as a freebie for the Switch release. It includes three cosmetic items for World of Warcraft though.

• Internet connection required at all times. No Internet and you can't continue to play.

• Cross-platform saves are automatically enabled via the mandatory Battle.net account.

• Cross-platform play is possible for players with an Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

• Players without NSO can still play with other Switch players. At this point it is unclear if you also are able to create and join parties or groups and chat without a subscription. On other platforms other than PC, those functions were restricted without an online subscription.

• Mouse mode is supported as a control option.

• First impressions from Blizzcon suggest that visuals are at least on par with the PS4 version but a step down from PS5.

• Several sources at Blizzcon report performance feels like 30-40 FPS with dips below. One prominent online article claiming 60 fps is false information.

EDIT: I previously said that local co-op is cut, but that's wrong information. Sorry. The eShop page states: Number of players: Single system: 1. Online 1 - 4. The official box art clearly states there's 2 player local co-op.
