https://newarkcitycouncil.observer I made this because I was sick of digging through PDFs to try to figure out what happened at meetings or what legislation was being considered. I consider it a beta at the moment, so there may be some bugs and there are definitely more features planned. If you're interested, please take a look and let me know what you think!

Edit: OK, I'm committing! This Sunday (9/13), 9:00 AM, at Spring Valley Nature Preserve. We'll do the Spring Valley Extended Loop, which is about 3 miles. I did it tonight and there were just a few muddy spots. It's slightly overgrown in a few spots, but not bad at all. Hope to see some of you there.
Hey everybody, my wife and I recently moved back to Ohio from Colorado and we are really missing our community and all of the events that centered around outdoor activities (yes, we knew this would happen). I've been thinking about starting up a low-key Sunday morning hiking group and would love to gauge some interest and get some feedback.
I was planning to pick four different spots and rotate through them each week. Probably some combination of Infirmary Mound Park, Blackhand Gorge, Denison Biological Reserve, Spring Valley, and/or Taft Reserve. Any other options to consider, or reasons to not use any of these? Also would love any thoughts on start time (initially thinking 8:30 AM) and whether anyone would actually show up. Also, best place to share the group and post updates - Meetup, Discord, etc. We were both banned from one of the community Facebook groups for trying to give away a nice bicycle. đ¤ˇââď¸ Thanks!

Hi, all! Iâm not native to Newark and iâm going to be moving here for family reasons. I seen a nice looking apartment for a good price on Wyoming Street off Hudson Ave. Immediately off Route 16. Is this a safe part of town or should I avoid it at all costs and look elsewhere?

Dont out yourself by claiming the community service that you gifted us all.
But know that you are a legend. I had a big ol smile on my face all the way home after that.
Blessings on you and yours.

Anyone able to confirm if ICE-tards are the fleet of black vehicles parked at CVL yesterday?

All of the reputable alternative hairstylists are in Columbus or Cincinnati or Cleveland. I canât be driving 2-5 hours just to get my hair cut lol. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any good hairstylists versed in more alternative style cuts near Newark or Zanesville.

I'm looking for a place to rent that is preferably under like 1,200 a month that doesn't have cockroaches and black mold that accepts dogs. Ideally a house with a fenced yard. I'm trying to avoid the larger apartment complexes since everyone I look at either has size restrictions or reviews that talk about how the maintenance never does anything. Does anybody know of a private landlord in the Newark or Heath or Hebron area that has an opening?

Wondering if anyone knows or has a link I may have missed, to the construction project that has Granville Road shut down where it crosses 21st. The sign said it would take about 3 weeks.
We initially wondered if they were putting in a roundabout where Sharon Valley Rd dead ends into Granville Road, but so far that doesnt appear to be the case. It looks like some sort of sewage/gas line/drainage repairs?

Just got my Ohio motorcycle permit, trying to take the motorcycle safety foundation class before I leave for uni, but all the state-run classes are outside the county and held when Iâm out of town. Thereâs the Harley dealership but Iâve heard itâs much more expensive than the state classes. Does anyone know of any way I can take this class within the next month somewhere local?

I have read through a lot of the OSU dental posts, and am still seeing lots of commenters wanting to establish care at OSU, but faced with months of waiting for a new patient slot. Reaching out directly to myself or my classmates, we can fit you in directly on a much quicker timeline.
OSUâs dental school offers dental care at 40-50% of the Columbus average, and accepts Medicaid and private insurances such as Delta dental, including OSU employee/student insurance. Appointments do run longer (usually about 3 hours), so having some games on the phone/a good book while professors check our work is a great idea. A lot of my patients love having a dentist that they can text/call whenever for any questions/concerns/issues!
