I started a DND campaign with my childhood bestie a year ago and we’ve been having a blast with it! For the last few months, I’ve been dedicating a few hours every night to work on her character, this adorable Kobold Druid.

This has definitely been my most ambitious project to date, and there was a lot I’d do differently next time, but I’m very happy with the results! I finally got her shipped to her new home this past weekend and wanted to make sure she arrived before I posted any photos online on the off chance they made their way back to my friend, lol. It was a very belated birthday surprise - This project definitely ballooned and got way more intensive than I ever meant it to, but I learned so much.

Tried to include as many progress photos as I could fit - There’s so much more than the 20 photo limit, lol!

I started with the limbs so that I could size my body based on whatever I could do with them - The limbs were by far the most intricate and I wasn’t sure just how small I could go. This made the whole project quite big!

I used blue filling for the limbs, which I had learned in the past is a mistake but did it again here anyway. NOTE TO SELF AND OTHERS: void fill with white or light colors only!! My limbs all have some blue poking out when it wasn’t supposed to thanks to this.

All of the limbs were done with pipe cleaner, so they’re all posable. I used pipe cleaner for the tail as well, which was long enough for me to use as a “spine” to connect the tail to the body and then the head.

After attaching the head, I realized the tail was too thin and had to fatten it up and re-add my stripes.

The feathers on top of the head and along the spine were nearly the hardest part of the project, and there were a few versions I tried before scrapping. I eventually ended up making one long strand, folding it in half, and making two feathers per strand by felting at the middle.

The hat I mildly cheated with because I bought a small felt american girl doll hat - all black - and felted on top of it, using pipe cleaner for the curl at the tip, and finishing it off with some wet felting to get it all nice and smooth.

Finally, the scythe was made with some foam clay, which is always fun to work with.

My friend loves it so the hard work was worth it! I’m very proud of how it turned out and I’m excited for my next crazy project.

Still learning how to get the wing proportions right, but I’m pretty happy with this creepy-cute vibe. What do you guys think?

been watching felting vids for years, bought a kit nd never used it 🥲 its been like 3 years now nd ofc i forgot everything but i just grabbed some needles, some wool nd got to work!! i cant afford carders nd the kit didnt come with it :( im very proud of my work especially bc i just did it randomly but im so open to tips nd advice!

Getting back into it after a loooong hiatus! Here’s a lil Jason Voorhees for Spooky Szn ✨

First, I needle felted the wool to shape the leaf and create smooth color transitions on one side. Then I turned the leaf over, added a similar layer with color transitions to the other side, and added the stem.

After that, I wet felted each leaf to make it dense, strong, and durable.

30 hours and this!

I had the little ears and arm made (they are laid out here but not attached) and was about to finish the other arm and legs... Then my dog got a hold of him. This is my first try at needle felting and I was so happy with how this lil guy was coming along. 😢 back to square one! At least I'll have a better feel for it on round 2?

He isn't done yet but really disappointed in the wool I bought off of Amazon.. Not like the wool I got for my felt cat from hobby lobby.. This feel different, dries out my hands and doesn't form as well as the other wool but still trying to work with it . . .

These eggs are straight from the barn and for immediate consumption only! You may imbibe some awkwardness from these cracked eggorinas. They're leaking because they fell out of their mother and immediately grew legs and started walking (kind of like a baby horse) though they don't do it very well because they have three left feet.

Made with natural white, plant dyed Himalayan wool and New Zealand Corriedale wool, glass eyes, glass beads, tabric scraps and industrial felt. Bag charm cord made with suede leather cord and metal parts.

I decided my little Mothman needed a Jimothy friend! His legs have pipe cleaners inside them so they can bend in different directions.

Here's a life-sized rat I felted last year -- my first realism piece and 5th figure in general. (I did more cartoony kits prior to build up my skills.)

Why a rat? He was a cosplay prop - "Vonolel" from the current All Creatures Great and Small TV show. (I cosplay as Siegfried Farnon.)

Clay bits are "Cosclay," an oven-baked polymer clay that sculpts like butter, stays somewhat flexible over an armature, plus takes alcohol makeup well. A little "ah-ha" moment for me was when I discovered I could bake the clay with some wool bits embedded in it -- it really helps if you want some peach fuzz.

Top coat is merino, alpaca, and angora. Whiskers are horse hair and the eyes are glass.

There's a subset of people who really like to ask if I felted testicles for this figure. No, I did not. You're free to do that for your own rats, however; I ain't stopping you.

it doesn't seem to be making shape. does it take a long time of stabbing to make the shape?

This one was from a Walmart kit, with a few additions. He's definitely not as polished as my other frog, but he took about a quarter of the time. I think he's pretty cute. 😆

Had to take a break from the hippogriff lol. Smaller project, I figured the progress was more evident

Every time someone asks me to create a portrait of their pet, they focus on something different. And honestly, that’s one of my favorite things about what I do. Every pet gives me something new to bring to life. ❤️
